Johnny Duncan To
Appear at Fair
In Stephenville
Johnny is coming home lb
That’s Johnny Duncan, better
known in this area as the
“Dublin Rash.”
A country-western show and
dance featuring Johnny Duncan
and his band “Solid Country,”
will be one of the principal
attractions, at the Tarleton-
Stephenville Bicentennial Fair,
April 9-11.
An old fashioned, all-you-can-
eat barbeque, a bluegrass show
featuring Joe Bass and the
Double Mountain Boys, and the
dance will open the Fair on
Friday evening in the city park
and Recreation Hall.
“We are indeed fortunate to
have Johnny Duncan and his
band as a part of our
Bicentennial Celebration,” Dr.
Sue McGinity, TSU Bicentennial
chairman said. “This is a rare
opportunity for TSU students as
well as area citizens to enjoy an
entire evening of listening and
dancing to traditional country
music.” Ronnie Isham, city
recreation director is in charge
Dublin Garden Club to Sell
Fenton Bicentennial Compote
The County Tax Assessor-
Collector's office would ap?
preciate motorists mailing in
their three part renewal notice,
plus the $1 and save a trip to
Stephenville. This will also save
time for you as there is a waiting
line.
The license plate already
mounted on your vehicle, which
was purchased in 1975 will be
good for the next five years.
License plate strips will be on
sale at the tax office in
Stephenville during March.
Frame large pieces of your
drapery or wallpaper for a
new look on a long wall.
The members of the Dublin
Garden Club are selling a
bicentennial compote as one of
their fund raising projects for
this year. Called the “Disciples
of Democracy” compote, it is
fashioned from the finest crystal
and designed in coordination
with the bicentennial celebra-
tion of the United States. Unlike
similar products that are manu-
factored entirely by mechanized
procedures, each copote is made
by hand and thus, obtains a
certain distinct and unique
quality of its own.
Featuring detailed cameos of
George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson, John Adams, and
Benjamin Franklin, this com-
pote poses a truly appropriate
Bicentennial Salute to the
democratic way of life that
these four “Disciples of Demo-
cracy” founded in America

■of arrangements for the dance.
Johnny's latest release on
Columbia Records is “Strangers'
which is already climbing on the
country charts. One of his most
memorable hits in recent years
is “Jo and the Cowboy,” which j
led country hits for some time.
Appearing with Johnny and
Solid Country will be Don
•Harris, popular WBAP disc
jockey.
Jack Mathews, TSU Center
director, will cater the barbeque
which will include barbequed
brisket, potato salad, beans,
