The St. Olaf Meridian Creek
Circle met with Mrs. George E.
Anderson on September 21. The
devotion, was read by the group
leader, Miss Minnie Rierson, and all
repeated the Lord’s. Prayer in
unison.
The afternoon was spent quilting
and visiting with guests; one being
Mrs. Jacobson who has returned to
Bosque County. Visitors are al-
ways welcome.
Refreshments of pimento sand-
wiches, cocoanut layer cake, cherry
ice cream, assorted cookies, punch
and coffee were served eight mem-
bers, ten visitors, and seven child-
ren. The collection was $3.60; next
meeting, Oct. 19, will be held at
Mrs. Floyd Mickelson’s home. Re-
porter, Mrs. Geo. E. Anderson.

Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Parrish left
Monday for Possum Kingdom Dam
on an extended vacation trip before
returning to their home in Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. Otis Blue were
Waco visitors Monday. They saw
the President, his wife and daugh-
ter during their stop in that city.

The Live Oak Sewing Circle met
September 23 at the New Country
home of Mrs. George Mingus in
the Mt. View Community.
The meeting opened with scrip-
ture reading by Rev. Maakestad
after which the Lord’s Prayer was
read in unison.
The evening was spent in sewing
various articles such as scarfs, pil-
low cases, pot holders, appliqueing
baby quilts, etc.
Delicious refreshments consisting
of chicken sandwiches, chocolate
layer cake, caramel layer cake,
crackettes, mints, salted nuts and
grape juice were served to 12 mem-
bers, 8 children and the following
visitors; Rev. and Mrs. Maakastad,
Cora and Clara Johnson, Mrs.
George Hughes, Mrs. John Herald,
Mrs. Ottis Tyler and Mrs. August
Enger.

Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Lee of Gates-
ville Sunday visited Mrs. Earle Lee
of Turnersville, who is a patient in
the local hospital. Mrs. Lee, who
returned home Monday a week ago
after recovering from an operation
in the hospital had to return the
following Friday on account of an
attack of phlebitis. The Lees of
Gatesville also visited with his
sister, Mrs. S. P. Stanford and
family.
