WITH THIS tremendous cost up
on the taxpayer already, it becomes
difficult for maay to* go .akmg with
the veterans’ organization* that
seek a pension for any specific
group of veteran* on the sole basis
that they an* veterans. In many
cases one’s neighbor was turned
down for service despite hi* efforts
to enlist and may have actually
worked harder than some of us in
the service. It is a different matter
where a soldier suffered physical
injury and became handicapped in
earning a living upon returning to
civilian life; every effort should be
nude to help him. When the editor
reaches retirement age, he may
look upon the matter differently,
tat just now a pension for doing
