workshop sit
The “Time of Your Life," a time
management workshop, will be offered
to the public Oct. 15, from 7 -10 pjn.
at the Texas A&M Research and Ex-
tension Center on the Mineral Wells
Highway.
There will be a |6 fee to cover take
home materials and refreshments.
More information may be obtained
by calling county agents, Barbara
whiting and Joe Pope at 965-3510.
The Dublin Progress
Word was received late Thursday
afternoon of the death of Pete Beecher
of Goree. He was the son of the late
Everett Beecher and Jessie (Garrison)
Beecher. They were residents of this
area for many years before moving to
Knox County. Pete was 72 and services
and burial were in Goree Friday after-
noon. Bryan Thiebaud and Mrs. Ava
(Garland) Thiebaud attended.
Linda Singleton of Abilene visited
with her parents, Billie and Archie
Singleton and Mickey over the
weekend.
Dr. and Mrs. Kauffman and
daughter of Fort Worth visited with
Johnnie and Irene Wilson late Satur-
day afternoon.
Shenel Mathis, daughter of Ricky
and Janet Mathis, spent Friday night
and part of Saturday with Julie Dawn
Wilson of Greens Creek. They attend-
ed the Dublin Homecoming Football
game Friday night.
We at the Round Grove Baptist
Church were happy to have Mrs.
Edyth Chaney with us at church Sun-
day morning. Hurry back.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morton and
girls, Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Jones, Mr.
and Mrs. Simon Jorgenson, Mr. G.W.
Hurley and Mr. and Mrs. Leach and
family of Dublin were visitors at the
Highland Missionary Baptist Church
Sunday morning.
A large crowd, far too many to
name, attended the program on “Drug
Abuse and Prevention” at the
Highland Baptist Church Sunday
night.
Friday and Saturday there were six
people from the Highland ZMissionary
Baptist Church who attended a Sunday
School Seminar at Dallas. Those atted-
ning were David Locke, pastor; and
wife Sharon, Bulah Jacks, Edna
Chrestman, Ann Shell and Mrs. Susan
(Don) Keith.
Ernest and Zelda Little, May Corbell
and Mary Lou Little were Sunday din-
ner guests in the house of Jessie
Rippetoe.
Bobby and Penny Keith and boys,
Kyle and Kris, enjoyed the weekend in
Arlington doing some sightseeing, etc.
Jimmie Neal Fair and Jammie
spent Saturday night and Sunday with
his parents, Orval and Altha Fair and
LaJuan.
Jeff and Jay Anderson of Bunyan
and their cousin, Ronnie Anderson of
Tyler visited the Fair home over the
weekend. . _„

Mr. and Mrs. Gaylon Dilworth of
Marble Palls were weekend guests of
her parents Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Tate
of Bunyan Community
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Westmorland of
Dublin spent a long weekend near Flip-
peng. Ark , doing some fishing. Just
how much did the big one weigh? Sure
was a nice weekend to fish all right, if
you enjoy fishing.
Mrs. Hazel Sharp and son Norman
spent the day Saturday with Mr and
Mrs. John Cooper of Dublin The men
caught up on some of the outside work
while the ladies did the cooking, etc ,
then picked up their hand work for a
few relaxing moments
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elston of
Huckabay were luncheon guests Mon-
day with her sister and husband, Mr
and Mrs. Melvin Logan. They enjoyed
a fish luncheon and a nice long visit in
the afternoon.
Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. John
East of Dublin came out to the Logans
for a few games of 42. The men were
winners this time.
Mrs. Ruby Short of Stephenville
spent Saturday morning with her
niece, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cheves
She sat with Gordon while Ganelle ran
a few errands. She drove by the Logan
home for a visit before returning
home. Ruby was among the group that
made a tour last week to Eureka
Springs, Ark They also saw the Pas-
sion Play and Sheperd of the Hills”
during the tour. They also enjoyed the
fall scenery.
Mrs. Myrtle Logan Sullivan of
DeLeon fell last Thursday morning
and broke her left hip. She had surgery
Friday morning early and was doing
as well as anyone could under the cir-
cumstances. Her daughter Mrs. Bettie
Uoyd of Paint Rock and her oldest
granddaughter, Mrs Phil Castaneda
of Cherokee drove in to be with her and
others present during surgery
Mr Kirby Clayton of Anson spent
part of last week with his sister Mrs.
Doris Miller. He was doing some work
on his farm.
We received work Sunday night of
the passing away of Mr. Gordon
Cheves of Dublin. He had been ill for
quite some time
Funeral services are at the First
Methodist Church in Dublin at 3 p.m

Indian Tribe Visits Dublin-Several little Indians, complete with head-
bands, warpaint and stick pony, were playing with the new teepee this week

We had a beautiful Sunday and
were glad Blanche Lampkin could at-
tend church with us.
We are sorry to hear Helen Vantin
passed away Sunday at her home. We
send our sympathy to the family.
Several from our church attended
the WMU rally at the Highland
Avenue Congregational Church
Saturday. They reported a good day
and several churches were
represented.
The wind sure damaged by big
walnut tree. I had to have it trimmed
up and hauled out.
Dr. Sheffield called Sunday morn-
ing from Brown wood. Things had
happened there where he could not
come to our church Sunday but he
said he would be here next Sunday.
Eulafae Carlisle, my daughter, is in
the hospital in Cleburne with
shingles. They called me last night.
Personal
Nine Senior Citizens members will
be leaving Tuesday morning for a trip
to Las Vegas. The group plans to
return home Friday night.
We are sorry to hear T. J. Hancock
is not doing well. He’s still in the
hospital here.
We haven’t heard from Clement
Jones this week. I suppose he's going
along about the same.
Johnniefae, my granddaughter
from Alvarado, called me Sunday
night and her husband Kenneth has
been in Germany about eight days on
his job. She thinks he will be back in
today.
It doesn’t matter if you
