Congratulations are in order for
Miss Dublin and Little Miss Dublin
and the rest of the girls who ride the
Chamber of Commerce float and
represent Dublin at community fairs.
These girls recently made
decorative additions to the float and
won first place in the out-of-town float
division of the Hico Old Settlers
parade.
They have taken their responsibili-
ty very seriously and are trying to at-
tend the majority of parades in the
surrounding area.
Preparation for these out-of-town
trips requires a lot of hard work not
only for the girls, but also for their
parents.
However, several businessmen
have also given great assistance. The
Chamber and the girls wish to thank
Mr. Leslie Billingsley of Henderson
Feed Fertilizer Sales for donating
storage space for the float throughout
the year.
This donation has provided protec-
tion for the float throughout the year.
This donation has provided protection
for the float from weather and
vandals.
Mr. Randy Hair of Hair’s Station
and Tires recently gave the float a
thorough cleaning after it was soiled
during a muddy parade. Again, we
say “thank you” for helping us to bet-
ter represent Dublin in other
communities.
The Chamber has received a 160
page catalouge listing the activities
that will take place at the West Texas
Fair and Rodeo in Abilene, Texas
September 11-19,1987.
If you plan to attend or perhaps are
interested in participating in this
event, call the Chamber office for
more information at 445-3422.
If you are planning a trip to the
Houston area in August, you may
wish to attend the Volks Wurstfest
sponsored by the Knights of
Columbus.
This is their eighth annual festival
and they report a lot of good polka
music and German food is
guaranteed.
For more information, check the
foyer of City Hall for a brochure or
call 694-2341, or write to: Volks
Wurfest Information, Knights of Col-
umbus, 607 E. Whitney Dr., Houston,
