UNION GROVE — Church went on as usual
Sunday, the weather wasn’t unfavorable enough to
hold back the people.
We were thankful for the rain. The cool weather
was almost like winter. It makes us think it is close
by.
Leona Jones of Stephenville called me Sunday,
she is about as as usual. Arthritis is bad.
Jack and Billie carried his mother and her mother to a specialist in Fort
Worth. Lucille lm to go back later, she has troubles and Billie has to have
a com taken off Iwr'foot on Monday and be through. Clyde is doing well
under conditions.
Andy Harrell came to sec me Sunday evening, he was on his way back
to Austin School.
Beryl Jones brother, Robert Bush of Fort Worth, really cleaned up her
place on Saturday.
Teresa Holt brought me a nice dinner Sunday, baked chicken, hash
brown potatoes, I sure did appreciate and thank her for that.
Wilbur Jumey was missed at Church Sunday due to some work he had
to do.
Miss Lucille Dittmorc went to Temple Monday for a check-up, hope it
is O.K.
We have a beautiful Monday, Johnnie Faye called me from Clebuem,
she and John arc spending the day with me today. We had a few things to
do and probably we will have dinner in Stephenville.

EDNA HILL — Rev. and Mrs. Robert Brown,
Chad, Jeff and Lauren had Sunday dinner with
Marie Ewing. *
Our attandance was down Sunday. Guess the
drop in the temperature got to some folks. Paula
Hansard was a visitor. \
It was good to see Janiccc Pattijohn, Oma Lee Browlwy and Bonnie
Monday. They also dropped by Ethel Blacks. Janiccc says she is doing
better all the time.
Richard and Janie Jerkins had Sunday lunch with the James Hughes.
Merle Grozier went to Austin Thursday to visit with her daughter,
Suencll Carlson and Mackenzie. She will be home Tuesday.
Sorry to report that Buddy Weeks is back in the hospital. Our prayers
are^ith them.
Luclla Salyer had a plcasent surprise Sunday when a friend and former
Edna Hill resident, George Jones called from Phconix Arizona. Said tell
everyone hello. Frank Barbee’s now own the place where George grew
up.
Sorry to report that Coda Vaughn was taken to the hospital Saturday.
Her daughter Cathey Pendleton and Jill were here from Round Rock. We
wish her a short stay.
Edna Carr and DcAlva Shillingburg visited with the Tommy Burlesons
Wednesday. Have a good week.
Highland News

HIGHLAND — Little Mitchell, Mitch Locke
was honored Saturday Nov. 3rd for his first birth-
day, with a party in the home of his parents, Ernie
and Sherry Locke in Dublin. His grandparents and
several other friends and relatives helped him en-
joy the day.
Mindi House attended a slumber party Friday night at the home of
Sarah James, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary James in Dublin. Several
other classmates also attended.
Happy to have Barksdale and Olene Mathis back at home. They have
been enjoying a trip to Colorado where they did some fishing and hunting
for about a month or six weeks. They relumed home Friday.
Bro. A1 Locke and his wife, Mary, returned home last week after being
gone for about a month. He ehld revivals in Fossil Oregon and Primeville
Oregan, each about a week. They also did some sightseeing while gone.
Happy to have you back.
Johnnie and Irene Wilson attended funeral services for Alvin Ferguson
at the Stephenville Fbneral Home, Thursday morning. Johnnie has known
the Ferguson family for many years.
Sp happy to report that Katie Keith is improving very nicely. She is
learning to use her walker and doing pretty well with it. Atha Deadmaon
is still with she and Phillip and helping them out.
I was in Fort Worth from Tuesday night until Friday afternoon having
some medical tests run. Sp happy that everything is alright.
The threashing in the community is not quite finished but we all en-
joyed the rain we received over the weekend.
John Pat Mow and Aleshia Neal and Cory James were visitors at the
Round Grove Baptist Church Sunday.

CLAIRETTE—The E.H. Club are sponsoring a
community Thanksgiving Dinner, Friday night at
6:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Everyone is
invited to come and bring a covered dish.
A baby boy was bran to Curtis & Christine
Wilkerson of Stephenville. They named him SeanDouglas.-«He is the
grandson of Charles & Catherine McDonald of Lazy “M” Ranch.
Jo Carter of Jonestown spent the weekend with her mother-in-law Reba
Carter and her visitor Nela Trimble. Nela returned to her home in Tyler
Sunday afternoon, after visiting with Reba several days.
Day Alva Ross of Fori Worth spent the weekend with her sister Wanda
and Red Mayfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny King of Stephenville visited Lucile Mayfield
Sunday afternoon.
James and Norma Gist of Fort Worth spent the weekend at their place.
Maida Patterson of Hico and Elwanda King of Stephenville have con-
tributed toward the repairing of the school building in memory of Les
Dowdy.
Tull and Emma Havens gave a program on Saudi Arabia at the Scottish
Rite Dinner October 29th, in Stephenville.
Mr. and Mrs. Grady Mayfield and daughter of Arlington spent the
weekend in Clairette at their place.
Dorothy reed who took the Flu 10 or 12 days ago is still weak and
coughing a lot and able to go to work.Wilma Martin received word her
brother Kermit Doane of Houston has suffered a stroke last week, she
also had a message later he was improving.
Wilma Martin attended Delta Kappa Gamma Saturday morning at the
Methodist Church in Morgan.
Clairette area had a northern and rain come in during Saturday night.
Sunday was a rainy dreary day 1/2 to 1 inch of rain came.
Mr. and Mrs. Anon Dover of Aledo spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.
H.W. Sherrard.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Boone went to Stephenville Monday night to watch
their grandson Corbie Boone play ball in his last game.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Boone met his sister and husband Mr. and Mrs.
Braden Jachow of Vance at the Golden Corral and had lunch together in
Stephenville.
