the Davis Street Baptist
Church. Kenneth Cromeans,
pastor of the church, officiated
the double-ring nuptials.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a formal
length white gown and chapel
length veil. She carried a
bouquet of orchids.
Miss Angela Schultz of
Sulphur Springs served as maid
of honor. Bridesmaids were
Roseanna Allen of Sulphur
Springs and Leneise Miller of
Pickton. They wore floor-length
orgud gowns and carried white
roises. Flower girl was
LeBrenda Miller of Tyler.
David Bartley of Sulphur
Springs attended the
bridegroom as best man.

received its Federation Charter
March 4 in the home of Dr. and
Mrs. Max Latham.
Mrs. Elsie Pheiffer, first vice-
president of the federation of
Lockhart, read the duties for
installed officers which in-
cluded Mrs. Max Latham,
president, Mrs. Bob Littlefied,
vice-president, and Mrs.
Charles Reynolds, secretary-
treasurer.
The constitution and by-laws
were accepted by members
during the business session and
plans were discussed for a
“Howdy” dinner for
of Tyler and Danny Boszman of
Pickton. Serving as ushers were
Darin Cromeans and Larry
Whittaker.
Nuptial music was presented
by David Speer, soloist, and
Craig Von, pianist.
Carolyn Sidebottom, Clara

church following the ceremony.

Galveston the couple will make
their home at 114 Nicholson in

employed in the day care center
at Davis Street Baptist Church.

Texas State University and is
currently employed at Home
Lumber Company.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Pilcher of Sulphur Springs announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Myra, to David Watson. Parents of the future bridegroom are
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Watson of Sulphur Springs. The couple will
exchange vows Sunday, May 18 at 4 p.m. in the First United
Methodist Church.

The Rev. and Mrs. Jack R. Adams of Sulphur Springs announce
the engagment and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Gina, to David Free. The prospective bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kirkpatrick of Sulphur Springs. The couple
plan a 7 p.m. ceremony Friday, March 14 in the home of the
bride's parents.
April nuptials announced
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Morrow of Mount Vernon announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Eva
Dawn, to Petty Officer 3rd Class Matt Brent Davis. The
prospective bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Mary E. Duncan of
Mount Vernon. Mr. Davis is a 1477 graduate of Mount Vernon
High SthH and is presently stationed with the United States
Navy as a Gunner's Mate Technician in Yorktown, Va. The
bride- elect is a 1*77 graduate of Mount Vernon High School,
attended Paris Junior College and is a recent graduate of the
Sulphur Springs School of Vocational NurJing. The couple plan
to wed at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 20 at the First Baptist Church in
Mount Vernon. Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Cason of Tyler.
Top employee
Sulphur Springs' Johnnie Froneberger displays the special
engraved silver platter she was awarded after being named
Employee of the Year for the eastern area of General Telephone
Company. At left is Harry E. Elam, area vice president-general
manager, who made the presentation. Mrs. Froneberger, a
service clerk, was honored for her contributions to the company
and for community, church and school activities.

for General Telephone Com-
pany, was recently named
Employee of the Year for the
eastern area of the company.
Presenting the special
engraved silver platter was
Harry E. Elam, area vice
president-general manager.
Mrs. Froneberger was the
Sulphur Springs Division
winner in the annual com-
petition, which is given to the
employee who exhibits a high
commitment to General
Telephone and community,
church and school involvement.
She was honored at a special
luncheon.
Mrs. Froneberger was
nominated by two fellow em-
ployees for her civic activities,
which include being a board
member of the Fall Festival,
board member and .committee
member of the PTA and B&PW
Club, among other items.
Kromers' "Arabian Nights'
Provide Entertainment At
Junior Waverly Program
“Arabian Nights” were
brought to life by Mrs. James
Kromer in her program for
members of the Junior Waverly
Club Feb. 28 in the Kromer
home.
Residents of Saudi Arabia
before coming to Sulphur
Springs, Mrs. Kromer and her
son Bryan gave members some
insight on life in the Mid-East
with descriptions of food, ways
of life, and customs in that
country with emphasis on the
woman’s roll in their society.
While pointing out the effect
of Western influence on Saudia
Arabians Mrs. Kromer
displayed personal articles
from that country including a
thobe which she described as an
ankle-length robe worn by the
men.
Following the program
members and guests were
served from a Mid-East table
which held dishes including
several grains and rices not
used in this country.

Vows Repeated In
Ceremony on Guam
Miss. Diane Olson and Mark
McClain were united in
marriage Saturday, Feb. 16 in
the Naval Station Chapel on
Guam. Dr. Joaquin F. Sablan of
Agana Heights Baptist Church
officiated the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jonny Olson of
Sulphur Springs. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
William McClain of Leesburg,
Ken.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride designed and
made her gown of white silk
which featured an overlay of
scalloped lace. A scalloped lace
bodice cape fell from her
shoulders into a chapel length
train. Her three-tiered veil
trimmed with lace completed
the bridal outfit. She carried a
bouquet of yellow roses and
blue forget-me-nots.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Jane LeBlanc. She wore a light
blue floor-length silk gown and
carried a bouquet of yellow and
blue flowers. Flower girl Kim
Kaible wore a light blue island
dress and carried a basket of
blue and white mixed flowers.
Butch LeBlanc served the
bridegroom as best man. Danny
Olson, brother of the bride, was
ringbearer.
Serving as ushers were Jonny
Olson Jr., brother of the bride,
and Robert Sablan.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the Club
Macombo.
The bride is a graduate of
Natrona County High School in
Casper, Wyo. She is currently a
dental technician with the U.S.
Navy. The bridegroom is a high
school graduate from Paris,
Ken. and is presently serving as
a mineman with the U.S. Navy.
Attending the wedding on
Gaum were the bride’s parents,
brothers and grandmother.
The couple are currently
residing on the Naval Station in
Guam.
Gilreath is Gourmet Cook
At Dial Study Club Session
The kitchen of the Raymond
Johnson home was the setting
for the Feb. 28 meeting of the
Dial Study Club.
Judy Gilreath, local gourmet
cook, prepared and demon-
strated the many uses of a food
processor in preparing meals.
She prepared a menu of
Mulligatawny Soup, Crab
Quiche, Bacon and Onion
Quiche, Spinach Quiche and
Orange Fluff for the group.
In addition to the meal, Mrs.
Gilreath gave club members
some helpful hints in the use of
the garlic press, vertical
roaster, how to freeze brown
sauce, ways to fix mushrooms,
how to add color and flavor in
vegetable preparation and how
to make Champagne Mimosa.
Members were served the meal
prepared by Mrs. Gilreath and
given menus and recipes .
During file club’s business
meeting members voted to
donate money to the Woman’s
Buiding to purchase new
shrubbery. Club members who
attended the group’s husband-
wife social were also recognized
during the meeting. Husbands
and wives attending the social
