Sept. 2, in the First Baptist
Church of Commerce in an 8

father, the bride chose a gown
of ivory peau de’soie trimmed
with Alencon lace encrusted
with pearls. Appliques of
pearl-trimmed lace adorned
the slim bodice and the front
of the controlled bell-shaped
skirt
_ Her chapel-length train
flared from the waist and fea-
tured appliques of lace at the
tenter back. She wore a three-
tiered veil of bridal illusion
trimmed with Alencon lace at-
tached to a pearljtrimmed
headpiece.
She carried a crescent cas-
cade of yellow roses, white
carnations, baby’s breath and
English ivy.
Mrs. Chuck Lay of College
Station attended the bride as
matron of honor. Miss Deb-
bie Riddle of Commerce was
bridesmaid.
The bride’s attendants wore
yellow and white sleeveless
gingham dresses with eyelet
embroidery trim. Accenting
their attire were wide brim-
med yellow picture hats. They
carried flowers similar to the
bride’s.

of Commerce High School and
the bridegroom a 1976 Cum-

bride is currently attending
East Texas State University,
and the bridegroom is employ-
ed by the Cumby Telephone

the First United Methodist
Church. Rev. James M. Gat-
fin, pastor, performed the
double-ring candlelight cere-
mony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Reginald E.
Hill and the granddaughter nf
Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Hill
cf Sulphur Springs. The bride-
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward E. Miller of Mt.
Pleasant
Traditional wedding vcws
were spoken before an arch-
way of greenery caught up by
white satin ribbons. Flank-
ing the sides of the archway
were entwined greenery and
two white wicker baskets of
ferns.
The bride, given in marri-
age by her father, chose a
formal, white, chapel length
imported organza gown fash-
ioned with Brussels and Ven-
ice lace. The bodice, molded
with imported lace, featured
a high sheer portrait neckline
with motifs of Brussels lace.
The long, full sleeves were of
sheer organza, trimmed with
Brussels lace and extra-wide
cuffs.
The full skirt swept to a
chapel train. Accenting, her
gown, the bride’s three-tier
finger-tip length veil was trim-
med in matching lace and a
poof face veil.
She carried a bouquet of
glamelias, baby’s breath and
greenry cascaded and entwin-
ed with long flowing stream-
ers.
Miss Rhonda Wallac serv-
ed as maid of honor. Miss
Mary Ann Brashear of Dallas,
along with Miss Kim Miller,
of Mt. Pleasant, sister of the
bridegroom were bridesmaids.
They were floor-length hal-
ter style dresses with double
butterfly ruffles accenting the
neckline, which were made of
baby blue twinklelight crepe
sheer. Accenting their attire,
the bridesmaids wore a clus-
ter of white daisies with blue
ribbon in their hair. They
carried nosegays of blue and
white daisies and baby’s
breath.
Terri Irene Hill, sister of
the bride, and Shelia King,
cousin of the bridegroom,
served as flower girls, wear-
ing baby blue twinklelight
sheer dresses accented with
butterfly sleeves, a dust ruf-
fle and blue satin sashes. They
carried white wicker baskets
filled with blue and white
daisies.
Best man was Bobby Short

were Randy Miller, brother cf
the bridegroom, and Paul Mil-1
er, cousin of the bridegrobm,
of Winfield. Serving as ush-
ers were Reggie Hill, brother

Randy Berry of Paducah, sis-
ter erf the bridegroom and Mrs.
Delbert Miller of Cleveland,
sister-in-law of the bride-
groom.
Guests were served from a
four-tiered wedding cake top-
ped with a miniature bride
and bridegroom. Punch, nuts
and mixed nuts were served
from silver appointments. The
bridegroom’s table held the
traditional chocolate cake ana
coffee. Mrs. David King pre-
sided at the registry. v
The bride is a 1977 graduate
of Sulphur Springs High School
and is presently attending
ETSU. The bridegroom is em-
ployed by Hill’s Custom Floors
and Tope.
Following a wedding trip to
Sac Antonio, Corpus Christi
and Houston, the couple plans
to reside at Lake view Village
Apartments in Sulphur
Springs.

Slaughter Chapel of the First
Baptist Church in Dallas was
the setting of toe wedding
uniting Miss Lea Ann France
and Richard Lloyd Howell in
marriage Saturday, Sept 10, at
11 a.m. Dr. W.A. Criswell of-
ficated at the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joe France of
Dallas and the bridegroom is
the son of Mrs. Susie Howell of
Midland and Shelby Howell of
Plainview.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride’s gown was a
candlelight chiffon with an
empire waist, a full graceful
circular skirt, long sleeves that
were full to the elbow, finished
with a fitted sleeve.
The bodice and sleeves were
fashioned with great detail and
the low round neck, sleeves and
toe bias circular skirt were
finished with wide bands of
imported Venetian lace to
match the appliques of lace on
the waistline.
She wore a Juliet cap with a
three tiered, fingertip length
tulle veil edged in the same lace
of her gowa Her bouquet was
of phaloenapsis, orchids,
stephanotis, roses and baby’s
breath.
Miss Janie France attended
her sister as maid of honor and
bridesmaids were Mrs. Susan
Henderson of Amarillo, Miss
Shannon Danohue, Miss Kathy
Liles, Miss Louisa Haughton
and Miss Lynn Wysacki of
Dallas.
They wore identical formal
A-line Quiana dresses of peach
fashioned with narrow straps
and a cape overlay of matching
chiffon.
