Sulphur Springs will have
automatic transmissions as
well as power steering. The
power steering makes it easier
for the drivers and the
automatic transmissions have
proved to give better service,
according to local ex-
periences...The buses will be
purchased through the state
board of control but the local
district has the option to refuse
delivery if the particular brand
offered is not wanted.

bing, according to the annual
report issued by District Clerk
Ola Beckham.
In 1979, her office accepted a
total of 758 cases, including 605
civil and 153 criminal. Of the
civil cases, 375 were disposed of
during the year.
Oddly, there were more
criminal cases disposed of than
were filed. There were 175
disposed.
The district clerk’s office
filed 59 child support contempt
cases in 1979. .
Mrs. Beckham’s office
collected and disbursed
$188,086.82 in child support
funds in 1979. The office
deposted $112,787.07 in the trust
fund, raising the balance to
$155,494.28.
Cost deposits and court cost
money deposited in the district
clerk’s account amounted to
$167,944.68.
In 1978, Mrs. Beckham’s
office collected and disbursed
$211,995.59 in child support
money. There were 63 child
support contempt cases filed in
1978. Her annual report for 1978
listed 452 civil and 87 criminal
cases filed, with 311 civil and
137 criminal cases disposed of
during the year.
