Leslee Rawson and Kristi Emerine of Sulphur Springs will
exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 12, at 8 p.m. at Echo

Fairchild, Vititow engaged
Max Johnson of Dike and Carol Potts of Sulphur Springs
announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Lynn

55th anniversary celebration
Troyce and Bobbie Allen Lewis will celebrate their 55th wed-
ding anniversary on Sunday, May 6, with a party organized by
their children from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Weaver Baptist Church
fellowship hall. The couple was married on May 11, 1946. Host-
ing the event are Jimmy and Janie Lewis, Larry and Cathy Wal-
lace, as well as the couple's grandchildren and great-grandchil-
dren. ftiends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend. No
gifts, please.
Johnson, Levine engagement
Dr. and Mrs. Rick Johnson of Arlington announce the engage-
ment of their daughter, Heather, to Benjamin David Levine of
Dallas. Benjamin is the son of Mr. and Mis. Alan Levine of Dal-
las and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ned Wolins of Dallas
and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Levine, formerly of Sulphur
Springs. Heather is the granddaughter of Angie Stephens and the
late Raymond Stephens of Tyler and Joanne Fraedrich and the
late Don Johnson of Dallas. The bride-elect is a graduating senior
at Texas Christian University, where she will receive a degree in
speech language pathology and is a member of Pi Beta Phi soror-
ity. The prospective groom-elect graduated from Texas A&M
University, where he was a member of the collegiate handball
team. He is an account analyst for LSG Sky Chefs in Dallas. The
couple will be married on Saturday, July 28, at the Hotel Adol-
phus in Dallas.
McAsey, Poe to exchange vows
Mr. and Mrs. Jack McAsey of Bridgeport announce the engage-
ment and approaching marriage of their daughter, Amanda
McAsey of Irving, to Toby Chad Poe of Tyler. Toby is the son of
Don and Pat Poe of Irving, formerly of Sulphur Springs, and the
grandson of the late Leonard Jones and Oleta Jones of Hugo,
Okla., and the late Nolie Poe and Mrs. Floydean Poe Bradley of
Quitman. Amanda is a teacher in the Irving School District and
Toby is an employee with Fairway Ford Dealership in Tyler. The
wedding will take place on July 21 at First Baptist Church in
Decatur. Following the wedding the couple will live at Hide-
Away Lake in Lindale.

The Captain David Phillips Chap-
ter of the National Society of the
Daughters of the American Revolu-
tion met at 2 p.m. April 14 in the
Community Room of (fity National
Bank.
regent Lea Potnpa called the meet-
ing to order and extended a welcome
to members and guests. She led the
chapter in the opening ritual and the
pledge to the American Flag. Billiefae
Sellers led the group in repeating the
“American's Creed."
Minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved. The treasur-
ers report was given by Bilie Evans.

marry Feb. 14
hartes Wright, son of Belinda Wright and the late Willie Joe
I Wright of Sulphur Springs, and Janice Ruth Luke of Hunt
County exchanged wedding vows on Feb. 14.
The intimate ceremony, witnessed by 100 close friends and family
members, was held in Golden Eagle Flight Training Hanger where
Ms. Luke is a student of Jim Folk.
Ms. Luke’s plane provided the backdrop to the altar, where Rex
Morgan, chaplain in Sulphur Springs, performed the ceremony.
Ms. Luke was escorted and given away by her son, Lt. Kirby Dean
Luke of Hunt County Sheriff’s Office.
Charles Ray Wright is a former Navy fighter pilot, ‘Top Gun,” and
is currently a commercial airline captain.
The couple honeymooned in the Hawaiian Islands, beginning with
Maui and ending in Honolulu, Oahau.

marriage on Monday. April 9. by
Precinct I Justice of the Peace
Yvonne King in a ceremony at Her-
itage Plaza on the Courthouse
Square in Sulphur Springs.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Truman L. Pope Sr. of Sul-
phur Springs. She was attended by
Tamara Wallace of Sulphur Springs
as best woman. The groom is the son
of the late Robert Morey and Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne Gass of Princeton.
Iowa. He was attended by Tim Wil-
son of Sulphur Springs as best man.
Long-time friend Charlie O’Shields
gave the groom away — on the
promise the bride not return him.
For the wedding the bride wore a
casual dress of ivory and flora print
cotton crinkle gauze. She accented
the outfit with pearl earrings and a
pearl necklace, as well as heart-
shaped rose colored glasses. She car-
ried the silk bouquet she designed
and made consisting of lilies, garde-
nias, miniature roses in shades of
pink and mauve, accented by
English ivy. loops of ivory pearls
and iridescent ribbons. The bride
carried out wedding tradition with
something old, an ivory lace hanky
that belonged to her late maternal
grandmother; something new, her
bouquet; something borrowed, a
"pink ice" ring belonging to her best
woman; and something blue, a dia-
mond and sapphire ring given to her
by her mother.
The groom was handsomely
attired in boots. Wranglers, a pale
green dress shirt, black hat and his
"signature" rose-colored classes.
Following the ceremony, the
groom presented his bride with I I
red roses in the tradition of his
favorite Hank Williams Jr. song (in
which his wife is (he 12th rose) and
escorted her to their pickup, which
had been decorated by the best man
and best woman who later hosted a
small private reception in their Mar-
tin Springs home.
Both the bride and groom are
employed at Bulkley Trucking as
drivers. They will make their home
in Sulphur Springs following a short
honeymoon.
