22 in a 7 p.m. ceremony in the
Como Christian Church.
The bride’s father, minister
of the First Christian Church in
Royce City and Bro. Bob Brown
of Westgate Baptist Church in
Sulphur Springs officiated the
double-ring nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James B.
Diamond of Sulphur Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Wiley R. Suttle
Sr. of Sulphur Springs are
parents of the bridegroom.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a formal
gown featuring a high-banded
neckline circled with silk
Venice lace, a V-yolk outlined
in appliques of lace and cap
sleeves. The fitted bodice at-
tached to the full-pleated skirt
and led to a chapel length train
edged in silk Venice lace. Her
veil of illusion was edged in
matching lace and caught to a
Juliet cap of lace. She carried a
bouquet of peach silk roses
adorned with baby's breath and
peach ribbons.
Vivian Crain of Sulphur
Springs served the bride as
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Laura Diamond of
Sulphur Springs, Shelly Mapes
of Lewisville, and Tammy
Suttle of Moore, Okla.
The bride’s attendants wore
peach floor-length gowns of
Quiana with matching bodices
of peach lace Quiana. They
carried bouquets of long-
stemmed peach roses,
stephanotis, and baby’s breath
with matching peach
streamers.
Wiley R. Suttle Sr. attended
tus son as best man. Groom-
smen were Ronnie Suttle of
Moore, Okla., Gene Baxley and
Brian Bell, both of Sulphur
Springs. Ushers were Howard
Burchfield of Sulphur Springs
and Butch Smith of Como.
Angela Diamond of Sulphur
Springs was the flower girl and
Keith Suttle of Fort Worth
served as ring bearer. Can-
dlelighters were Damon Crain
and Keith Suttle.
Nuptial music was peformed
by Sherron Hicks, pianist, Ace
Hamner who sang “Colour My
World" accompanied by Pam
Hicks on the flute, and “Lord’s
Prayer.” Diane Lummus sang
“Evergreen” and the “Wed-
ding Song.”
The bride’s parents were
hosts for a reception im-
mediately following the
ceremony in the fellowship hall
of the church. Houseparty
members were Deanna
Abercrombie, Rose Ann
Milheim, Linda Gulley, Jill
Pearson, Shari Spence, and
Teresa Wallace. Kim Mapes
presided at the registry.
Following a wedding trip to
Las Vegas the couple will make
their home at 310 Helm Ln. in
Sulphur Springs.
The bride is a 1979 graduate
of Sulphur Springs High School
and is employed by H.D. Lee
Co. The bridegroom is a 1979
graduate of Sulphur Springs
High and is employed at Rock-
well International
Parents of the bridegroom
were hosts for a rehearsal
dinner Friday, March 21 in the
fellowship hall of the church.
The dinner consisted of a
barbeque buffet and wedding
party members were presented
gifts.
Depicting the theme
"Somewhere Over the Rain-
bow” with a multi-colored
rainbow and a garden setting,
the annual Hi-King Klub
presentation got underway at 8
p.m Saturday, April 5 in the
Civic Center.
Master of Ceremonies, Ron
Ingram, opened the presen-
tation with theme song,
“Somewhere Over the Rain-
bow.” He then welcomed
guests and club mothers Doris
Osborn, Marjorie West, Lola
McFadden, Margin Latham,
Martha Reynolds, Dorothy
White, and Joyce Ann Jackson.
Club sponsors were
presented to the background
music of “Somewhere Over the
Rainbow.” Renee Armstrong
escorted by her husband, Steve,
Debbie Booker escorted by her
husband, Buck, Jan Spencer
was escorted by her husband,
Alan, and Janice Lyle was

Lois Kelley of Commerce announces the engagement of her
(laughter, Lisa, to Ronald Dickon of Brashear. Father of the
bride-to-be is the late Cameron Kelley. Parents of the
prospective bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Truitt Dickon of
Brashear. The couple will wed Saturday, May M'at 7:30 p.m. in
the chapel of the First Baptist Church in Commerce. Friends
and relatives of the couple are invited to attend.
A memorial garden to be
erected in memory of Mrs.
Ruth A. Stirling Ashcroft was
approved by members of the
Gty Cemetery Society at then-
meeting Monday, April 7. Mrs.
Ashcroft was a past-president
of the society.
With unanimous approval the
privet hedge at the central
gateway of the cemetery will be
removed. The hedge, which
was considered a traffic
hazard, will be replaced by
background plantings of
Burfordi holly fronted with
azaleas and pkunias.
The business session was

Wood in the abscence of Mrs.
Rayphield Brinker.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard A. Cooper of Hagarsport will be honored
with a reception on the occasion of their SOth wedding an-
niversary Sunday, April 13 from 2-4 p.m. at the Hagarsport
Community Center. Hosts for the occasion will be the honorees'
children and grandchildren.
Open house scheduled
An open house will honor Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Rawlinson on their
SOth wedding anniversary Sunday, April 20. Hosts for the oc-
casion will be their children and grandchildren. The occasion
will be held at the home of the honorees, 833 Brinker St., from 1-S
p.m. Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to aHend.
Couple will observe 50th
John Duard Berthier and Bonnie Bess Morgan Berthier will
observe their SOth wedding anniversary Sunday, April 20 with a
reception from 2-4 p.m. at their home at 1801 College. Travis and
Mona Giles and Charles and Cherry Richardson will host the
event. The Berthier's were married in Greenville at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Young. The ceremony was performed by Dr.
Joseph Pierce who was dean of Burleson College which is no
longer in existence. Mr. Berthier retired from Higginbotham-
Bailey in Dallas in 1972 where he was employed as a salesman
for more than 40 years. The couple resided in Dallas until his
retirement and then moved Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Berthier's
hometown.
Wedding date set
Mr. and Mrs. Clovis Fox of Sulphur Springs announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Maleta, to Richard Earl Reynolds of Sulphur Springs. Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Earl Reynolds are parents of the future
bridegroom. The couple will wed at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7 in
the First United Methodist Church.
May wedding slated
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Attlesey of Sulphur Springs announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Laura Lynn, to Danny Lynn Teer. Parents of the prospective
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. John Beezley of Como. The couple
will exchange vows in the Greenpond Baptist Church in Como,
Saturday, May 31 at 8 p.m. A reception will follow at the Reilly
Springs Community Center. Friends and relatives are invited to
attend.
