Mr. and Mrs. Parry Me Michael of Paris announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Michello Renee, to Trent Alan Miller of Paris. He is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miller of Paris. The couple will be married
in an I p.m. ceremony in the home of the prospective
bridegroom's parents. Dr. Raymond Armstrong, pastor of the
First Christian Church, will officiate. Miss McMichael is a 1980
Paris High School graduate and is presently enrolled at Paris
Junior College. She is employed at Palace Drug. The future
bridegroom attended school in Holly, Colo, and is employed at
Circle M Cattle Co. Miss McMichael is the granddaughter of
Mrs. Jeston Williams and the late Jeston (Tiny) Williams of
Sulphur Springs. Her mother is the former Rebecca Ann
Williams.

Lunch ’N Learn group.

months.
A miscellaneous bridal
shower was held April 24 at the
People’s National Bank
Community Room. Hostesses
for the occasion were Mrs.
Wanda Winfrey, Mrs. Imogene
Jacobs and Mrs. Debbie
Shirley. Guests were served
petit fours and punch from
tables decorated in the bride’s
chosen colors of pastels.
Mrs. Sylvia McCullough and
Mrs. Billie Fae McCullough of
Dallas honored Miss Attlesey
with a bridesmaids brunch and
personal shower Saturday, May
3 in their home.
Guests were served punch,
hors d’ oeuvres and a selection
of gourmet foods. Miniature
flower arrangements were
presented at the brunch.
The Reilly Springs Com-
munity Center was the setting
for a miscellaneous shower
honoring Miss Attlesey. Hosts
for the May 9 affair were Mrs.
Elizabeth Allison, Mrs. Betsy
Whitson and Mrs. Tootsie At-
tlesey.
The tables were decorated in
pastels with fresh flower
arrangements. Refreshments
included finger sandwiches,
punch and cookies.
Miss Attlesey was honored
with a bridal shower May 10 in
the home of the prospective
bridegroom’s grandmother,
Mrs. Ivo Teer. Other hostesses
included Mrs. Elaine Frashier
and Miss Becky Beezley. The
future bride and bridegroom
were served punch and assorted
finger foods.
Mrs. Kim Keen and Mrs.
Linda Fails, cousin and sister of
the bride-to-be honored Miss
Attlesey with a rice bag party at
the home of Mrs. Keen. The
party was held Tuesday, May 27
at 7 p.m. with friends and
relatives of the honoree making
rice bags of candlelight net and
pastel satin ribbon.

Begin Forming
Guidance classes, child care,
quilting, coupon exchanges,
yogurt making and saving
money on groceries were just a
few of the things discussed at
the second meeting to organize
a new Extension Homemakers
Club recently.
The meeting was held in the
County Extension Office with
LaDelle Brown, Lucy Mc-
Corkle, Faye Johnston, Nona
Schulz, Melinda Moore, Bettie
Gilbreath, Aleta Shelton,
Christine Hinman and Lorraine
Tilton attending.
Janie Crump explained the
organizational structure of the
club and demonstrated the use
of the food processor. Plans
were made for the next meeting
to the held June 10 at 10 a.m. in
the community room at the
First National Bank.
Anyone interested in joining
this new club is urged to attend.
The program will be “Smart
Food Shopping Tips.”
Disabled American Veterans
Auxiliary Unit 160 presented
Hopkins County Nursing Home
residents with a Memorial
Week celebration which in-
cluded the presentation of
American flags to the residents.
One-hundred small flags were
placed on the doors of rooms
honoring patients most of whom
are veterans or relatives of
veterans. Refreshments were
also served during the day’s
activities.
The DAV group also
presented flags to students at
North Hopkins School and
Sulphur Bluff School.
The auxiliary unit joined the
DAV chapter for Memorial Day
services followed by a luncheon
of fried chicken with all the
trimmings in the Ag Building in
City Park. One-hundred and
fifty members and friends
attended the event.
As a finale for the day tickets
were drawn for two American
flags and poles. Chris Webb and
the Rev. A.J. Lawson were the
lucky ticket holders.
