Jackson died Thursday at 10:15
p m. at Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. a, 1896 in
Pickton to Robert (Bob) and
Julia Baker Orr. He married
Novis Day in Pine Forest on
Dec. 22,1918.
Mr. Orr had owned and
operated Orr General Mer-
chandising in Pickton for over
30 years and had recently
moved to Sulphur Springs from
Pickton.
Services were conducted at 2
p m. Saturday in the Taber-
nacle Baptist Church in Pickton
with the Rev. LB. Morgan and
the Rev. Jesse Miller of-
ficiating. Burial was in New
Pickton Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and
several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Orr was preceded in
death by a brother, Robert Orr,
in 1960, and a sister, Susie
James in 1973.
Serving as pallbearers were

Ralph Kimmons, Joe Mack
McGlamery, Pat Minter and

three grandchildren.

Kay Wooten in Durant, Okla. in
1933.
He was a veteran of World
War H and a member of the
Cumby Presbyterian Church.
He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife; a
daughter, Sandra Scott of
Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Lillie
Cross of Cumby and Aleen
Patterson of Mabank, and four
grandchildren.

Wilson B. Dennis of Saltillo
died Saturday in the Veterans
Administration Hospital in
Bonham. He had been a patient
there for about 10 years.

Former Sulphur Springs
resident John Paul Murray, 63,
of 2337 Doreen in Grand Prairie
died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the
Grand Prairie Community
Hospital.
He was bom Jan. 28,1917 in
Spitnio to Joe D. and Donie
Bennett Murray.
Mr. Murray married Thelma
Ann Mabry in Wichita Falls on
Nov. 21, 1945.
He was a member of the Pine
Forest Baptist Church,
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
No. 8560 and served in the US.
Army during World War n. He
was a retired mechanic.
Services were conducted at 2
p.m. Friday in the Murray-
Orwosky Chapel with the Rev.
Jerry Kunkel and the Rev. L.B.
Morgan officiating. Burial was
in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife; a

Crest Cemetery at Mena.

Jack Donaldson, Route 2,
Mount Vernon, were held
Sunday, Feb. 17, at McCrary-
Edwards-Cain Funeral Home
in Winnsboro, with the Rev.

and burial following in Lee
Cemetery.
Mr. Donaldson, 19, was
fatally injured in an automobile
accident near Purley Feb. 16.
He was bom Oct. 20, 1960 in
Mount Vernon, the son of Zack
and Helen Waldrep Donaldson.
His mother formerly lived in
Weaver and Saltillo. «*.
Mr. Donaldson was a 1979
graduate of Winnsboro High
School, where he was an out-
standing athlete in track and
football. He was an all-district
linebacker and captain of the
football team his senior year.
He was named to Who’s Who
in High School Football in Dave
Campbell’s Texas Football
Magazine in 1978. He was a
member of the Spanish,.
Science, H.H.A. and F.T.A.
clubs in high school, where he
was named Mr. Winnsboro
High School in his senior year.
He also received the Best All-
Around Boy Award from the
high school faculty.
Survivors include his parents
of Mount Vernon, two brothers,
Danny Donaldson of Winnsboro
and Darrell Donaldson of
Mount Vernon; and two sisters,
Sharlene Blevins of Kilgore and
Sharon Brossett of Winnsboro.

Weathers and Tommy Cook.

Pickton. He was a retired
butcher and was a veteran of
both World War H and the
Korean War.
Mr. Lile is survived by his
wife, Erma, of Mount
Pleasant; his mother, Mrs.
Taylor lile erf Como; three
daughters, Mrs. Betty Reese
and Mrs. Vivian Horton, both of
Mount Pleasant, and Mrs.
Patsy Early of Paris; a son,
Jerry Lile of Winnsboro; a
sister, Mrs. Nell Jordan of Pine
Forest; three brothers, William
lile of Dallas, James Lile of
Florida and Don Lile of
Virginia; and five grand-
children.
Mrs. Lula Williams, 83, of 318
W Front St. died Monday night
at Memorial Hospital
She was boro June 14, 1896 in
die East Caney community to
the Rev. and Mrs. Alex Nash.
She married Jim Williams, who
preceded her in death in 1941.
She was a member of the
Morning Chapel Baptist
Church.
Services were conducted at 2
p.m. Saturday at die Morning
Chapel Baptist Church with the
Rev. D.L Ellison officiating.
Burial was in the East Caney
Cemetery.

Church of God in Christ.

3:23 p.m. at Memorial Hospital
of injuries sustained in a traffic
accident on Saturday.

Mrs. Betts died Tuesday at
7:10 a.m. at the Winnsboro
Nursing Home.
She was bom May 17,1921 in
Sulphur Bluff to Harlan E. and
Da Coffee Emerson. She was
married to Earnest Betts who
preceded her in death.
She was the natural mother
of three daughters who were
later adopted and was a
member of the Shady Grove
Baptist Church.

Emerson of Malibu, Calif., Bill
Emerson of Big Springs and
J.M. Emerson of Houston and

Mr. Reynolds was a veteran
of World War II, a member of
the Sulphur Bluff Masonic
Lodge No. 246 AF&AM and the
Central Baptist Church. He
was a retired employee of the
City of Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include his wife; a
son, Billy Reynolds of Sulphur
Springs; a daughter, Mrs.
Brenda Cheairs of Sulphur

The “flu bug” has hit the
community the past two or
three weeks. Merle Smiddy
missed two weeks of work, his
wife Ruby was ill also; Herm,
Helen andRuby Weir and Roy
Mosier also relapsed with their
second attack. Robert Weir,
Mamie Sullivan and Verna
Mosier are ill.

Center Fair Park at Dallas
Sunday afternoon to attend a
book review.

merce Tuesday and visited Gay
