Les Wilson is recuperating at
home following medical
treatment in Doctors Hospital,
DaUas.
M. D. Glosup, Rickey and
Kathy Glosup and Amanda
have returned home from
Chattanooga, Okla., where they
went to with their daughter and
sister, Gwen Nefford, and her
family. Mrs. Nefford lost her
husband, Neal, and son, Tim,
(along with three other males)
in a plane crash north of Ard-
more, Okla. last Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel Mc-
Carty and Lance, Brent and
Tamara Johnson were in
Russellvile, Ark. recently for
the funeral of Mitchel's gran-
dmother, Mrs. SteUa McCarty.
While the McCartys were in
Arkansas they visited a short
time in Searcy with Larry and
Brenda Vaughn and family,
who formerly resided here.
A crowd of fans followed the
North Hopkins boys basketbaU
team through the play-off
tournament in the Sulphur
Springs gym Thursday and
Friday nights.

Prairie spent the weekend with

Eagles lose
The Como Pickton Eagle
girls, winners of district 38-B,
lost their bid for a regional
basketbaU crown 41-37 to Avery
in Kilgore Friday aftemooa
Coach Willie Hargett’s
Eagles led at the end of one
quarter, 126, and again at the
half, 19-18.
But Avery outscored them 12-
9 and 11-9 in the second 16
minutes to register the four
point win and advance to the
next rung of the playoff ladder.
For the Eagles Teresa
Swanson had 21 points to lead
all scorers, followed by
sophomore LesUe Mowat with
six. Delois Fiters connected for
16 for Avery, who beat Celeste
in the Sulphur Springs Middle
School gym recently to
represent district 38-B in the
Regional tournament Avery
carried a 28-1 season and a 9-1
district record ijnto the tour-
nament.
