I 1 Curtis Britt Harvey 11 of
JL-/ Deport were married in a
double-ring ceremony Saturday, April
15, at Tankersley Gardens in Mount
Pleasant with Billy Pearson Sr. of
Lone Oak, Ark. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ken-
neth Thomas and the late Betty
Thomas of Deport.
The groom is the son of Curtis and
Sigrid Harvey of Kilgore and the
grandson of Margie Frey of Kilgore
and Heinz and Katie Anders of
Altenkirshen, Germany.
Escorted to the altar and given in
marriage by her father, the bride
chose a designer gown of white bridal
satin. The heavily beaded bodice
accented with clusters of pearls
ascended to a V shape over the full
flowing skirt.
The back of the dress, enhanced
with a double-tiered peplum adorned
with elegant white roses, fell into a
cathedral train outlined in Schiffili
lace displaying scattered Alencon
motifs. Her waist-length illusion veil
fell from a cluster of roses and pearl
stamens on a small pouf of illusion.
For her bouquet, the bride chose
white Casablanca lilies cascading
with greenery.
Wedding music was provided by
Mark Hardy and Linda Sikes, soloist.
Attending the bride as matron of
honor was Julia Owens of Idabel,
Okla. Bridesmaids were Molly Black-
mon of Dallas and Donna Edgar of
Sulphur Springs. Serving as junior
bridesmaids were Hollie Allen and
Jemilynn McKee of Deport.
Madison Mills, niece of the groom,
was the flower girl.
Dana Parker presided at the regis-
ter.
Curtis Harvey, father of the grobm,
served his son as best man. Grooms-
men included Mike Shrum of Tyler,
Steven Harvey of Mount Pleasant,
brother of the groom, Dustin Allen
and Zachary Allen, both of Deport.
A reception following the ceremo-
ny was held in the pavilion of Tanker-
sley Gardens. Members of the house-
party included Ann Blackmon, Pam
McKee, Linda Sikes, Jackie Mills,
sister of the groom, Elsie Rounsvall
and Dana Parker.
Out of town guests attending were
Mr. and Mrs. Heinz Anders of
Altenkirshen, Germany, Mr. and Mrs.
Gene Bishop of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs.
Elfrieda Stantcsch of Niederwillin-
gen, Germany and Kay and David
Mosely of Austin.
The bride was honored with a mis-
cellaneous shower at the home of
Mrs. John Allen. Hosting the shower
were Dot Nichols, Pam McKee, Mar-
lene Morgan, Susie Hicks, Jayme
Syrus, Laura Wright, Cecilia Smith,
Rachel Ward, Linda Sikes, Julia
Owens, Ruth Ann Allen, Doris
Elmore and Donna Edgar.
Following a wedding trip to Las
Vegas, Nev., the couple will reside in
Deport.
Hines, Morris wed April 22

I 1 Lawrence Craig Morris were
united in marriage at 1 p.m.
Saturday, April 22, at The Wedding
Cottage in Rockwall. The Rev. Fred
Lewis, associate pastor of First Bap-
tist Church in Sulphur Springs, offi-
ciated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Colleen Hines of Sulphur Springs
and the late Donald E. Hines. She is
the granddaughter of Idell Hines of
Bonham and the late Coleman E.
Hines.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Curtis R. Morris of Sulphur
Springs. He is the grandson of Mal-
va Morris and the late Curtis C.
Morris and Mr. and Mrs. John
Lawrence of Sulphur Springs.
Given in marriage by her family
and escorted by her brother, Russell
E. Hines of Bedford, the bride wore
an ivory wedding suit with long,
straight skirt of soft crepe. The
shoulders of the damask fitted jacket
were adorned with ivory braid,
rhinestones and pearls.
The bride wore a pearl-encrusted
headpiece fashioned with a soft pouf
of tulle at the crown with the veil
flowing to a shoulder length. Match-
ing pearl and rhinestone earrings and
pearl enhancer, a gift of the groom’s
parents, completed her wedding
attire.
The bride’s crescent-shaped bou-
quet featured a stargazer lily sur-
rounded by pink and white alstrome-
ria, pink roses and delphiniums
accented with English ivy and
mauve ribbons. To complete the
bridal tradition, she carried some-
thing old, a handkerchief belonging
to her maternal great-grandmother;
something new, her dress; something
borrowed, her mother’s wedding
band; and something blue, her garter,
made by the groom’s paternal grand-
mother. She presented a long-
stemmed white rose to her mother as
she entered the chapel and to the
groom’s mother as she left.
The matron of honor was Lorri
Quinn of Grapevine. Bridesmaids
were Mary Ann Lewis of Dallas,
cousin of the bride and Cheryl
Litzkow of Richardson. The atten-
dants wore long dresses in pink and
purple floral print with greenery
interspersed on a cream background
designed with a scooped neckline
and empire waist accented with a
bow. The bridesmaids carried
stargazer lilies gathered with hunter
green ribbon and accented with trail-
ing English ivy.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Craig Morris
Madison Hines, niece of the bride,
was the flower girl. She wore an
ivory cotton batiste dress with
French handsewn lace and ribbon
collar and carried an ivory lace bas-
ket with rose petals.
The groom wore a cutaway black
tuxedo with tails. His shirt was ivory
as was his cummerbund and tie. His
boutonniere was made of flowers
from the bride’s bouquet.
Kevin Fite of Sulphur Springs
served as best man. Groomsmen
were Jeff Wallace of The Woodlands
and Will Gibson of Paris, cousin of
the groom. Mason Hines, nephew of
the bride, lit the candles at the altar.
Ushers were Heath Hyde of Irving
and Craig Burwell of Lake Dallas.
The groomsmen, ushers and candle
lighter wore black tuxedos with
ivory shirts and black ties and cum-
merbunds.
The altar of the wedding cottage
was decorated with an archway cov-
ered with white roses interspersed
with greenery and banked with
arrangements of white roses, gladio-
lus and lilies. Nine-branch cande-
labrum adorned each side of the
altar. Hurricane candles with white
tulle poufs intertwined with greenery
lined the center aisle.
As the candles were lit, “Canon in
D” was played. The mothers and
grandmothers were seated to “Forev-
er in Love.” Kenny G’s “Wedding
Song” was played as the brides-
maids walked down the aisle. The
bride entered to “The Bridal Cho-
rus.”
Following the ceremony, the
reception also took place at The
.Wedding Cottage. The bride’s table
featured a heart-shaped four-tiered
ivory cake with fresh flowers cas-
cading down from the top tier. A
heart-shaped chocolate cake with
mounds of chocolate-dipped straw-
berries centered the groom’s table.
An elaborate fruit and cheese
spread was presented on a rectangu-
lar side table. Coffee and punch
were served from silver service
appointments. Houseparty members
serving as hostesses were Angelia
Hines, sister-in-law of the bride and
Betsy Gibson, cousin of the groom.
Dressed in their wedding attire,
the bride and groom were driven by
limousine to a Dallas hotel. Follow-
ing a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas,
Nevada, the couple will reside in
Sugar Land.
The bride graduated from Sulphur
Springs High School in 1985, East
Texas State University in 1988 and
is employed by Dillard’s Department
Stores. The groom graduated from
Sulphur Springs High School in
1984, Baylor University in 1988 and
is employed by Jamieson Manufac-
turing.
Culpeppers Cattle Co. in Rock-
wall was the site of the rehearsal
dinner hosted by the groom’s par-
ents. A western theme was carried
out in the table decorations. The
guests enjoyed an evening of dinner
and reminiscing. The bride and
groom also presented gifts to their
attendants.
Showers and Parties
An engagement party was given
on February 19, at the home of
Colleen Hines, mother of the bride.
Family members of the couple
enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, punch and
coffee.
On February 26, Dillard’s North-
park managers gave a shower for the
couple at the home of Bart and Fran
Tillotson in Dallas.
A personal shower was given by
bridesmaids Lorri Quinn and Cheryl
Litzkow in Timber Creek Apartment
Clubhouse in Dallas on March 19.
Nancy Stephens hosted a dinner
party shower in her home in Euless
on March 24. Co-hostesses were
Angelia Hines, Raschelle
Loudenslager and Leslie Stephens.
A miscellaneous shower was giv-
en on April 2, at First Baptist
Church. Hostesses were friends of
the couple and their families.
On April 9, a recipe and kitchen
shower was given in the home of
Jane Glover. Co-hostesses were Car-
olyn Gibbons, Betty Flora, Ima Ash-
er, Charlotte Holland, Shirley
Hogan, Wanda Beaty, Beth Hurley
and Linda West.
The morning of the wedding, the
bride’s party met at the Goliad
House in Rockwall for a brunch
hosted by the bride’s mother. The
groom’s party was honored with a
breakfast by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Hyde aid Mr. and Mrs. Dwight
Therwanger at the Bristol Suites
Hotel in Dallas.
