Fire costs
at $9,000
Sulphur Springs firemen
report a total of 60 fires during
the closing month of 1979 with a
fire loss estimated to be $9,000.
There were 40 fires in the city
limits ahd 20 in the county with
only one general alarm.
Grass fires — mostly caused
by fireworks — accounted for
24 fires in December with 12
each in the city and county.
There were four house fires in
the county and three vehicle
fires.
In the city, there were 10
vehicle fires and three trash
fires.
Firemen made one rescue
call, four classified as
miscellaneous and 10 pubUc
service calls during the month.
