Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rowell of Como announce the engagement and
approaching marriage of their daughter. Penni Ann Rowell, to Gregory
Jay Richardson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Richardson of Commerce.
The couple will wed at 2 p.m. Saturday. Sept. 5, in Como United
Methodist Church.
Engagement announcement
Mr. and Mrs. Sumner Brashears and Mr. Gary Easterling of Huntsville
announce the engagement of their daughter, tiara Marsae, to Thomas
Cody Mosier, son of Ms. Nelda Mosier of Rockwall and Mr. Tommy
Mosier of Mena. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jean Tay-
lor and the late Eugene Taylor, Mrs. Genevieve Easterling and the late

were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Sat-
urday, June 20, in Miller Grove Unit-
ed Methodist Church. The Rev. Don
Brununett, pastor, officiated the cere-
mony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Flecker of Miller
Grove. She is the granddaughter of
Mrs. Edwina Damboise of Long
Island, N.Y., and the late Delmar
Damboise and Mr. and Mrs. Hank
and Evelyn Echeverio of Treasure
Island. Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Wagley of Miller Grove served as
honorary grandparents.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Purser of Princeton. He is
the grandson of Mrs. Dottie Watson
of Garland and Mr. and Mrs. Tony
Adair of Kilgore.
Given in marriage by her parents
and escorted to the altar by her father,
the bride wore a formal white satin
wedding gown. The lace-covered
bodice, encrusted with seed pearls
and iridescent sequins, featured a jew-
el neckline, scooped back with three
strands of pearls elegantly placed in
the center and princess sleeves.
The dropped waistline with slight-
ly gathered skirt flowed into a cathe-
dral-length train with a detachable
satin bow. The skirt was accented
with beaded lace and seeded pearls
down the center that formed a V and
scattered onto the train. Scalloped
lace completed the hemline.
The fingertip veil was one of three
layers. The first layer the bride wore
over her face as she entered the
church, the second rested on her
elbows and the final layer flowed
freely behind the others and was
attached to a headband encrusted with
seed pearls and iridescent sequins.
The bride carried a bouquet of a
dozen fresh white roses that cascaded
downward.
To carry out the traditional wedding
custom, she carried “something old,”
a baby bonnet worn by the groom;
“something new,” her wedding
ensemble; “something borrowed,”
pearl earrings belonging to her
younger sister and a pearl necklace
belonging to one of her older sisters;
and "something blue,” her garter.
Renee' Flecker of Miller Grove,
sister of the bride, served as maid of
honor. She wore a formal gown of
navy moire taffeta. The fitted gown
featured a jewel neckline and princess
sleeves accented with a self-satin bow
that was attached to a small train.
She carried a single fresh red rose
accented with navy and hunter green
ribbons.
Casey and Ashley Millard of Miller
Grove, friends of the bride, served as
flower girls. They wore soft pink
chiffon floral print dresses with flow-
ers in spring colors.
Casey carried a wicker basket filled
with fresh flowers and dropped the
petals on the floor as she walked
down the aisle. Ashley carried a white
Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Wayne Purser
ribbons to accent the pillow. The pil-
low was borrowed from her older sis-
ter, who used it in her wedding.
Serving as candlelighters were
Roland Flecker of Miller Grove, sis-
ter of the bride, and Julie Purser of
Princeton, sister of the groom. Each
wore tea-length, navy cotton and satin
dresses.
Richelle Toon of Cooper, sister of
the bride, wore a navy rayon suit. She
read I Corinthians, chapter 13 during
the wedding ceremony.
Serving as the groom's best man
was Brandon Price of Sulphur
Springs.
Ronald Flecker of Miller Grove,
brother of the bride, and Kyle Geron
of Dallas, cousin of the groom, served
as ushers.
The groom wore a classic black
tuxedo with tails, a white vest and
bowtie. He also wore a fresh white
rose as his boutonniere to match the
bride. The best man and ushers wore
black tuxedos with black bowties and
vests.
The bride’s chosen colors were
navy and hunter green. The altar of
the church featured a seven-branch
candelabra on each side with green-
ery, white lace and navy and hunter
green bows adorning them. A brass
kneeling bench was located on the top
of the stage. The unity candle stood at

Music for the ceremony was pro-
vided by Virgie Johnson of Greenville
and Mary Ferguson of Miller Grove.
“Butterfly Kisses” was played when
the bride and her father reached the
altar. “I Do Cherish You” was played
after the minister reflected on love
and marriage. "The Lord’s Prayer”
was sung by Ms. Johnson as the cou-
ple kneeled at the kneeling bench and
prayed their first prayer together.
When the couple lit the unity candle,
Ms. Johnson sang “The Rose.”
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held in-the Miller Grove
Community Center. The wedding
cake was a traditional three-tiered
tower of beauty decorated with white
ruffles and roses. The cake was
topped with a Precious Moments
bride and groom, given to the couple
by the bride’s aunt and uncle from
New York.
The groom’s cake was a traditional
chocolate mounted high with choco-
late-covered strawberries. The center-
piece of the groom’s table was a silk
flower arrangement in a glass vase
with marbles in the bottom made by
the groom’s grandmother. Diane’s
Dream Cakes made the cakes.
A table was set up for punch, cof-
fee, mints and nuts. The punch was
served in a crystal punch bowl and
the coffee was served in a silver cof-
fee set. Silk flowers in a wicker bas-
ket served as the centerpiece, made
by the groom’s grandmother.
The houseparty guests were Caryn
Darrow of Miller Grove, Audra
Perkins of Malvern, Ark.. Virgie
Johnson of Greenville, Julie Purser of
Princeton, sister of the groom, and
Richelle Toon of Cooper, sister of the
bride.
Following a honeymoon in the Dal-
las West End, the couple reside in
Sulphur Springs.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of
Miller Grove High School and a stu-
dent at Texas A&M University-Com-
merce. She is employed by Southwest
Brokerage of Cumby.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of
Princeton High School. He is
employed by Clayton Homes.
Showers and Parties
The groom’s parents hosted a
rehearsal dinner on June 19 in the
Miller Grove Community Center.
Guests were served baked ham, sal-
ads, a variety of finger foods and
desserts. The couple presented gifts to
the wedding party.
The couple were honored with a
wedding shower on July 12 in the
Miller Grove School Cafeteria.
Hostesses for the event were Mary
Lou Akins, Lorna Beasley, Carolyn
Bums, Danna Darty, Mary Lynn Fer-
guson and Deanna Hasten. The guests
were served nuts, mints, punch and
homemade desserts.
The bride was honored with a
bridesmaid luncheon June 19 at Mary
of Puddin’ Hill in Greenville.
Hostesses for the event were Renee’
Flecker, Rolanda Flecker, Darlene
Flecker and Richelle Toon. The girls
ate from the menu and presented
Robyn with some gifts for her honey-
moon.
The groom was honored with a
bachelor party on June 19 in Sulphur
Springs. The party was given by his
groomsman.

away garter. A sixpence was given to
now lives about 1/2 mile from the spot
where she was bom July 12, 1908, on
farm her father bought in 1900.
Ruth is the daughter of Luther Frank
Woodbridge and Corinne Jimmie
Jones. Her great-grandparents were
pioneer settlers at Shiloh in Hunt
County before Texas became a state.
Her great-great-grandfather, John
SoRelle. came to Texas in the early
days of the Republic to survey land.
Ruth and her twin sister. Ray
SoRelle Woodbridge Bishop, who died
in 1993. along with her older sister.
Grace and younger brother, Frank,
attended grade school in Campbell.
Ruth, Ray and Frank attended
Greenville High School, where Ruth
was voted “Most Popular” and “Most
Beautiful” and Ray was the salutatori-
an of the 1926 graduating class.
Ruth began teaching at Lone Star in
the fall of 1926. In 1929. she married
Glen Flewharty, who was principal of
the Campbell schools. From 1933-36,
Glen was principal in Cumby and Ruth
taught for a year in the Nelta School in
Hopkins County.
The couple’s daughter, Glenda Ray,
was bom in 1946. The couple retired in
1972 and built a home on Flewharty
family land in Sulphur Springs. They
became active in First Baptist Church,
where Glen taught Sunday school and
Ruth was a founding member of the
Rebecca Sunday School class. Mr. Fle-
wharty died on Jan. 1, 1998, at their
home in Sulphur Springs.
Hipp of Waco officiated the double-
ring ceremony. Ann Denton, cousin of
the bride, served as altar girl.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Steve Shing of Sulphur
Springs. She is the granddaughter of
Dennis and Betty Holley of Sulphur
Springs and the late J.H. Jetton Jr. and
Billie Shing and the late Joe Shing of
Sulphur Springs.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Alan Geis of Sulphur Springs.
He is the grandson of A.H. and Willie
Eaton of Weatherford, Okla., and
Ralph and Helen Geis of Hobart,
Okla.
Given in marriage by her parents
and escorted to the altar by her father,
the bride wore a candlelight satin
designer gown featuring a sweetheart
neckline. The long pouf sleeves cre-
ated a dainty point over the hand.
The bodice was heavily beaded
with clusters of pearls, iridescent
sequins and large point applique
descending past the waist. The back
of the gown was enhanced with a V-
line of embroidered lace and decora-
tive satin buttons trimmed the back
zipper. The full skirt and semi-cathe-
dral train were adorned with lace
motifs descending the train.
The bride carried a nosegay bou-

less full-length dresses in lilac crepe
back satin. They carried spring bou-
quets of cream and pink roses and
lilac hydrangeas.
Kennedy Potts of Sulphur Springs,
cousin of the bride, served as flower
girl. She wore a candlelight full-
length dress with sheer short sleeves
and a halo of baby 's breath. She car-
ried a small version of the bride's
bouquet.
Paul Kirkland of Sulphur Springs
served as best man. Groomsmen were
Chad Morrill of Sulphur Springs.
Chris Brown of Denton and Eric Bai-
ley of Sulphur Springs. They wore
black Oscar de la Renta tuxedos with
candlelight shirts.
John Shing of Sulphur Springs,
brother of the bride, Jason Gibbs of
Carrolton and Blake Riley of Sulphur
Springs served as ushers. They wore
Manhattan double-breasted black
suits.
The church was decorated with
