neckline framed in silk Venice
lace. The bishop sleeves were
accented with insets of lace and
caught at the wrist to a wide ,
cuff. The full skirt flowed into a
chapel train. The bride carried
a bouquet of miniature gar-
denias, roses, and iris with
cascading stephenotis and
baby's breath in different
shades of blue.
Sister of the bride, Laura
Bradford of Pine Forest served
as maid of honor. Virginia
Bradford, of Pine Forest, also a
sister of the bride served as
bridesmaid. Dressed in shades
of blue, the attendants carried
long stem blue silk roses with
miniature iris.
Rick Copeland of Weaver
served as best man. Groom-
sman was Jason Hightower of
Winnsboro. The bride’s
brother, Brad Bradford of Pine
Forest was an usher along with
Stephen Maddux of Pickton.
The flower girl was Amy
Hightower of Winnsboro, niece
of the bridegroom. Kevin
Brewer of Sulphur Springs was
the ring bearer. Candlelighters
were sisters of the bride, both
from Pine Forest. They are
Rachel Bradford and Victoria
Bradford.
Wedding music was provided
by Mrs. Donna Ingram, Ron
Ingram and Mr. and Mrs. Pat
Penn of Plano. Other singers
were Janice Carter, Dwight
Alexander, Lavyn Sisco,
Maralyn Woodall, Margin
Latham, Jess Tomasek, Julie
Hager and Mike Wilton.
The reception was in the
fellowship hall of the church.
Beverly Boggs and Patricia
Hightower served the bride’s
cake while the punch was
served by Cammye Gamblin
and Donna Courson. Johna
West, Donna Lewis and Carol
West attended the
bridegroom's table. Mrs. Brad
Bradford presided at the
registry.

wedding were Mrs. Katherine
Altermann of Dallas and Mr.
Mesquite; Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Scholl, Deborah and
Pam, Kaufman;

The bride a 1980 graduate of
Como-Pickton High School
wore a white blazer suit for the
wedding trip to Dallas. Lewis is
a 1972 graduate of Saltillo High
School and after serving three
years in the U.S. Army is
currently employed as a car-
penter. The counls will make
by Deanna and Beverly Boggs
and Tonya Bradford in the
Bogg’s home. Another listed
was on Aug. 8 at the Weaver
Baptist Church fellowship hall.
On Aug. 5 a shower was given in
the Pine Forest home of Archie
Highfield by Pat Spark, Lucy
Massey, Betty McClure and
Mary Ann Colburn.
Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Glenn Lewis

Paula Jean Wood and
William Andrew Meier were
married in a double-ring
ceremony in the First Baptist
Church Spence Chapel by Don
Good on July 26, 1980.
Parents of the bride and
groom are Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
ward L. Wood and Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew F. Meier. AH of the
major participants are from
Sulphur Springs.
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride wore a
formal wedding gown of ivory
dacron knit and antique ivory
lace that was designed and
made by her mother, Jean
Wood. The design featured a
gentle scoop neck undergown
with an empire waist. The lace
over dress had a high round
neckline which was accented
with seed pearls. The lace
sleeves fit snugly to the wrist.
The over dress continued into a
long flowing train and
scalloped lace hemline. The
floor length veil featured an
antique ivory lace cap accented
with seed pearls and a flowing
ivory tulle veil trimmed with
scalloped lace. She carried a
silk colonial bouquet of peach
carnations with a touch of blue
and ivory.
Attending the bride as
matron of honor wax Tena
Wilkes. Bridesmaids were Kim
Keen and Shari Beers, all of
Sulphur Sprins. The attendants
wore gowns of peach and blue
floral in a soft knit The dresses
had an empire waist and scoop
necklines and bell sleeves.
They wore white lace hats with
peach satin ribbon and carried
small sift bouquets of peach
and blue and ivory roses.
Glenn Wood of Sulphur
Springs served as best man.
Groomsmen were Robert
Meier of Rockwall and Randy
Jenkins of Sulphur Springs. The
ushers for the wedding were
Jim Meier of Blossom, Kevin
Wilkes and Charlie Keen, both
of Sulphur Springs.
Randa Jenkins was the
flower girl and Jamie Mitchell
served as ring bearer. Music
was provided by Joe Weaver
doing a vocal and guitar
number and vocalist Vickie
Jenkins accompanied by
Barbara Taylor at the piano.
The reception hosted by the
bride’s parents was held in the
Fellowship Hall of the church.
The bride’s table was attended
by Linda Meier and Donna
Froneberger who served the
cake and punch. Jean Wood,
mother of the bride, made the
wedding cake.
Serving at the bridegroom’s
table was Kathy Wright and
Fat Anderson. Bonnie Oxford
presided at the registry.
Among the wedding guests
were relatives from Pitt-
sburgh, Pa., Waterloo, Iowa,
Dallas and Greenville.
The bride Is a graduate of
Sulphur Springs High School
and is employed at City
National Bank. Meier is a
graduate of Sulphur Springs
High School and is attending
Paris Junior College. He is also
employed at Winzen In-
ternational.
After a Carribean cruise to
the Virgin Islans, San Juan,
Samana and Florida, the
couple will make their home in
Sulphur Springs.
Backdrop of Greenery Is
Scene of Chapel Vows
Amy Renee Anderson and
Dickie Lynn Scroggins, ex-
changed their wedding vows
before a backdrop of greenery,
baskets of flowers and candles
that created an elegant setting
for the nupital which was held
on Sept. 19 at 8 pm. before the
prieu d’ lieu. Dr. John Sullivan
of the Broadmore Baptist
Church in Shreveport, La.
officiated the ceremony in the
Spence Chapel of the First
Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James W. An-
derson of Sulphur Springs. The
bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arlon D. Scroggins of
Tyler.
Escorted down the aisle lined
by votive candles, the bride and
her father approached the altar
where he gave her hand in
marriage. She wore a formal
white organza gown fashioned
with Chantilly and silk Venice
laces. Accented with lace, the
ruffled bodice featured a V-
neckline and shepherdess
sleeves enhanced with beaded
lace medallions. Motifs of lace
and clusters of pearls
decorated the full skirt which
was designed with three tiers or
organza and swept to a chapel
train. A lavish cathedral length
illusion veil embellished with
lace complemented the gown.
The bride carried a classical
cascade bouquet designed of
white cattleyea orchids,
stephanotis and baby’s breath
caught with French lace and
ribbon.
Maid of honor was Jane
Gideon of Sulphur Springs. The
bridesmaids from Sulphur
Springs were Terri Burney,
Kamilla Johnson and Mrs. Clint
Anderson. Mrs. Stanley P. Bain
of Pickton was also a
bridesmaid.
The bride’s attendants wore
apricot chiffon gowns that
featured empire waist and
pleated skirts. The bodices
were designed with spaghetti
straps and chiffon capes. They
carried colonial bouquets
featuring apricot carnations
and baby’s breath accented
with ribbon in the -bride's
chosen colors.
Attending the bridegroom
was Kit Carson of Jacksonville
as best man. Groomsmen were
Clint Anderson of Sulphur
Springs; Roger Scroggins of
Tyler; Scott Scroggins of
Shreveport and David Jones of
Mrs. Dickie Lynn Scroggins
Tyler.
Melissa Bryant of Sulphur
Springs was flower girl and
Martin Neighbors of Cooper
was the ring bearer. Ushers
were Sam Johnson of Sulphur
Springs; Kevin Fletcher of
McKinney and Tim Gilbert of
Bonham. Music was provided
by Mrs. Paul Vititow.
Following the double-ring
ceremony the reception, hosted
by Mr. and Mrs. James An-
derson was held in the
Fellowship Hall of the church.
Angela Anderson presided at
the registry. Other members of
the house party were Cindy
Castro of Sulphur Springs;
Emily Small of Arlington,
Debbie Pogue of Sulphur
Springs and Lori Adams of
Commerce.
The bride’s table was skirted
in French lace and illusion.
Flowers in apricot tones were
placed at vantage points. The
three-tiered fountain cake was
placed between two smaller
cakes. The three cakes were
connected by stairways that
held miniature groomsmen and
bridesmaids that led to the
large center cake. Ap-
pointments of silver were used.
The bridegroom’s cake held
the traditional chocolate cake
that was served from brass
appointments. An arrangement
of fern and candles completed
the decor.
The bride is a graduate of
Sulphur Springs High-School
and attended Tyler Jr. College.
She is employed by Sulphur
Springs State Bank. Scroggins
is a graduate of Robert E. Lee
High School in Tyler and is
employed at Rockwell. The
couple will make their home in
Sulphur Springs.
Wedded In The Garden
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Meier
Catherine Diane Chapman
and Luther Clay Hubbard
exchanged their wedding vows
on the lawn of the Chapman
home, Sept. 6, 1980 with the
Rev. Ken Hildebrand of the
First United Methodist Church
officiating the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Billy Rose Chapman and
the late B.F. Chapman of
Sulphur Springs. The
bridegroom is the son of Jack
Hubbard and the late Retha
Marie Hubbard of San Angelo.
The wedding began at the
start of a brilliantly colored
sunset. The bride was escorted
to the brass archway, sided by
brass fern stands, by her
brother Biff Chapman. She
wore an short ivory lace dress
fashioned with an empire waist
and crystal pleated skirt. The
gathered lace bodice was tied
at the shoulders with satin
ribbon. Her hair was sprinkled
with baby’s breath and she
wore a single flower from her
father's favorite rosebush in
her hair. She carried a bouquet
of daisies, pink baby’s breath
and rosebuds.
Laura Ann Stephens of
Sulphur Springs was the maid
of honor. She wore a long gown
of green and white lace.
The bridegroom's father,
Jack Hubbard served as best
man. Ushers for the wedding
were Lee Levine, David Levine
and Stephen Gillem, all of
Plano and cousins of the bride.
Ring bearer was Richard
Michael Garcia Jr. of San
Angelo, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Garcia and nephew of
the bridegroom.
The reception following the
ceremony was hosted by Mrs.
B.F. Chapman, Mr. and Mrs.
Biff Chapman and Mrs. Janie
Taylor, sister of the bride who
also presided at the registry.
Jackie Hubbard and Sharon
Hubbard, sisters of the
bridegroom served the
champagne. Mickey Chapman,
sister-in-law of the bride
assisted at the buffet-style
bridal table. Mrs. Carolyn
