the home of her mother, Mrs.
Cora Taylor, in Henryetta,
Okla.
She was bora in Henryetta
Sept. 16, 1927. She spent her
earlier life in Kansas and
Illinois, graduating from
Salem, 111. High School. She
was married to Howard Ruxzdl
in Graham, Okla. on June 6,
1940, and they lived in Berger,
Wichita Falls, and Elmo City,
Okla., before moving to
Sulphur Springs in 1969.
She was a member of First
Baptist Church in Sulphur
Springs.
Survivors include her
husband; two sons, Jimmy
Rozzell of Saudi Arabia and
Ricky Rozzell of Sulphur
Springs; a daughter, Ann
Graham with the U. S. Navy in
Okinawa; her mother; a
brother, Richard Taylor of
Saudi Arabia; and four
grandchildren.
Funeral services were
conducted at 2 p.m.Tueaday at
the First Baptist Church in
Healdton, Okla., with the Rev.
W. Dean Rainwater officiating.
Burial was in the Milo
Cemetery with Remit White,
Claud Tilley, Tony Bible, Grant
Bible, George Dale and Doodle
Winton serving as pallbearers.

the family residence. He was
born March 15, 1907 at Sulphur
Bluff, son of Henry J. and Ell
Vira Holloway Smith.
He was married to Hazel
Gibson Dec. 25, 1933. She
preceded him in death in 1970. A
son, Henry Jeff Smith, also
preceded him in death in 1944.
He was married to Mrs.
Trixie Dickson Nov. 12, 1971.
She survives.
Other survivors are a
daughter, Mrs. Ell Leta Harete
of Austin; a step-son, Ken
Dickson of Dallas; three
brothers, Dr. Ralph Smith of
Dallas, Carl Smith of Bogata,

Burial was in Sulphur Bluff

THE CUMBY High School
Student Council is sponsoring a
men’s independent basketball
tournament to raise money for
a fence fund Feb. 27-March 1 in
the Cumby School gym. Teams
are invited to contact Mrs.

150 per team, with individual
trophies given to the first,
second and third place teams.

Travis School Tuesday. He also
explained bicyde safety rules

watched as several youngsters
rode on the school’s bike ob-
stacle course set up by James
Griffin.
SGT. CHARLES B. Sprague,
son of Hugh and Lynda Sprague
of Sulphur Springs, is reported
in a stable condition and im-
proving after sustaining critical
injuries in a traffic accident in
Germany two weeks ago. He
sustained multiple fractures of
the left leg, chest, facial and
head injuries. He is a patient in
the Wetebaden AF Hospital in
Germany. Two of his sisters,
Spec. 4 Ruth Sprague with die
Air Force at Chicksan,
England, and Spec. 4 Shelley
Sprague in Germany have
visited him in the hospital. He
riaohua cousin, Sgt. David P.
Opaiewski, stationed at the
same base wife him.
