Wilson, a native of
Arkadelphia, Ark., was a
Trinity accountant and
founder and partner in the
Wilson-McCasland Tax Of-
fice in Trinity. He died
Thursday afternoon in Trini-
ty.
He moved to Trinity at the
age of 17 to work for the
Rock Creek Lumber Co.,
which later became known
as the Texas Long Leaf
Lumber do.
One of the first accoun-
tants in Texas to receive
state certification, Wilson
obtained his license before
state regulations governing
certified public accountants
were adopted.
Last month, the Texas
Senate honored Wilson as an
outstanding citizen for his
many contributions to socie-
ty and for making the state a
better place to live.
State Senator Kent Caper-
ton introduced the resolution
honoring Wilson. Speaking of
Wilson, Capterton said, “His
wit, warmth, generosity and

LIVINGSTON- The Polk
County Jail was awarded
with a certificate of im-
provement by Bob Dearing
of the Texas Commission on
Jail Standards. It has taken
approximately four years
for the Jail to receive this
certificate. The jail is now
100% in compliance with the
Texas minimum Jail regula-
tions. This honor reflects
upon the Judge, commis-
sioners and the sheriff.
Polk County is one of the 71
certified jails to receive this
certificate out of 254 counties
with 247 operating Jails.
Mr. Dearing added that
the Jail is now equipped with
life saving devices such as a,
smoke detector, smoke fans,
firehoses, stretchers and
