Mart and a luncheon at
Loews Anatole Hotel.
While in Dallas the Hicks
also visited Marvin Hicks’
uncle and wife, Dr. and Mrs.
Marvin Judy.

The gospel singing is plan-
ned June 20, with plans to be
completed at the June 2
meeting of Livingston Folks.
New members welcomed
were Lizzie Baxley and
Velma Buie.
Clyde Pearson, coor-
dinator of the Senior Olym-
pics for Polk County, gave a
report on the participation
and activities at the Olym-
pics at the Livingston
Elementary School gym-
nasium April 25. The
membership of Livingston
Folks consented to use of
their bus by senior citizens to
the Mayfest in Lufkin May
23, when winners of the local
Olympics will compete with
winners from other counties.
All senior citizens are asked
to attend the Mayfest.
The Folks also heard a
report on the Bur-Mont Nur-
sing Center picnic at the
State Park April 29, with 36
residents, including six
Wheelchair patients and one
amputee, attending. Ac-
tivities included fishing and
playing games.
A report was also heard on
the rummage sale May 9 at
the Farmer’s Market on
Hwy. 146, which was termed
successful.
Livingston Folks, Inc.,
meets at 7:30 p.m. the first
Tuesday of each month in
the Livingston City Hall
Auditorium. The organiza-
tion is non-profit and tax
deductible. Visitors and pro-
spective new members are
invited to attend.

Beltone Hearing Aid Service
office Monday Friday from
9AM to 5PM.
Factory-trained Hearing
Aid Specialists will be at our
office 617 S. First, Lufkin, to
perform the tests.
Anyone who has trouble
hearing is welcome to have
the test using the current
electronic equipment to
determine if his loss is one
which may be helped. Some
of the causes of hearing loss
will explained, and diagrams
of how the ear works will be
shown.
Everyone should have a
hearing test at least once a
year if there Is any trouble at
all hearing clearly. Evan peo-
ple now wearing a hearing
aid or those who have been
told nothing could be done
for them should have a hear-
ing test and find out whether
the current methods of hear-
ing correction can help them
hear better.
