Whale Is Well
Recommended
When the great Whale and Marine
show comes into Mt. Pleasant for ex-
hibition, it was with the finest letters
of approval from various newspaper
editors and city officials in the many
cities recently played in Texas, and
school teachers are very enthusiastic
in their praise for Capt. Howard
Trainer, First Made Barney Barnhill
and other members of the crew
which accompanies the exhibition car
on its tour through the inland states
that never get a chance to see ocean
monsters, and when Miss Alice Car-
roll, press representative for the Cat-
alina Whaling Company, makes ar-
rangements with the school officials
to lecture to one of the class on bio-
logy.
The groups of boys and girls, who
will be guests of the Daily Times at
4:30 o’clock, will be taken care of
Manager Rex Lee. School teachers
will be admitted by just showing
their tickets at the door when enter-
ing the platform any time, day or
night.
Never in history has there been
such a collection of sea animals shown
outside of a permanent museum and
those who see this fine lot are sure
to tell their friends because the lec-
tures are very educational and the ex-
hibit worth going miles to see, espe-
cially the children who are studying
about these same specimens every
day.
Frank J. Lee, general manager of
the Catalina Whaling Company was
pleased to have been able to send this
Marine exhibit to Mt. Pleasant and
have it sponsored by the Times inas-
much as he is a member of the Press
Association in Milwaukee, Wis., and
always enjoys visiting the newspaper
offices.
The Whale exhibit will leave Wed-
nesday night, so see it while you can.
It is interesting and educational.
GREEN HILL AGRICULTURAL
STUDENTS GIVE MINSTREL
Ten Green Hill Vocational Agricul-
tural students, assisted by their
teacher, planned and put on a black-
faced minstrel play at the local school
building Friday night, May 13th, be-
fore about 150 people.
In order to train boys in public
speaking, and at the same time raise
funds with which to carry out agri-
cultural activities during the remain-
der of school year, these boys put on
this play. The entertainment con-
sisted of humorous leadings, jokes,
southern melody songs, string band
music, and the black faced plays.
The following students were in the
play: Woodrow Allen, Gordon Free-
man, Reginald Johnson, Lee Jones,
ir.ot.pVi Griffith, Clifton M*,e<vn; Ffaipb
Page, Donald Ricks, Robert Sanders
and Judd Strother. Music was fur-
nished by Dave Hartley, Amos Pruitt,
and Rex Rolfe throughout the even-
ing.—Repoi’ter.
