Chamber of Commerce
Rapidly Raising Budget
HAS NEARLY HALF OF THE
AMOUNT ALREADY
FLEDGED TODAY
After the special meeting of
the Chamber of Commerce Mon-
day night, everybody in Mt.
Pleasant is beginning to realize
ibe necessity of an active com-
mercial body, and are helping
the directors in this work.
The committee which was ap-
pointed to look after Ihe budget
of the Chamber of Commerce,
got busy Wednesday morning,
meeting in a locai office, and
filling out a list of the amount
each business man would be ex-
pected to pay each month in or-
der to keep the work in good
condition.
*At noon, nearly half the
amount scheduled had been
pledged, and there are quite a
number of people who have not
yet been approached for this
work. The directors are en-
cial body. ’
Mt. Pleasant is realizing that
something is necessary to bring
things back to a normal condi-
tion here, and it seems to be the
general opinion that a live sec-
retary of the Chamber of Com-
merce will do a great deal to-
ward this end.
