"FINE FOR GAS,

Black-Draught Also Praised Bjj
Illinois Woman For Benefit
In Constipation.
Cairo, HI.—“I have used Black-
Draught in my home for fifteen
years, and it is a splendid medi-
cine,” writes Mrs. Bernice Brack,
of 3301 Commercial Street, this
city. “Sometimes I am subject to j
colds and constipation, and I find
it to be the finest thing for tills.
“My mother used Thedford’s
Black-Draught In her home for 1
years, and it was there that I be-
gan taking it. She thought it was
so good that she hnd me to use
it, and I have never found any
medicine that would take its place 1
satisfactorily.
“I find Black-Draught fine for
sour stomach and gas. A few j
doses taken for several nights rid
the system of poison due to con-
stipation, and it makes me feel
like a new person.
“I try to keep Black-Draught al-
ways on hand, and I treat all small
Illness with it. I can certainly
recommend it for I have found it
very’ good and dependable.”
Thedford’s Black-Draught is a
purely vegetable cathartic or laxa-
tive medicine, made of selected
medicinal herbs and roots. k*
Indigestion-Biliousness
It is a romantic drama replete with
! thrills, intrigue, laughter and love.
| Never has Miss Daniels appeared to
| greater advantage. As a stranded
j American actress aided by a genial
j old innkeeper (Lionel Bolmore), she
gives an outstanding portrayal—one
of depth, humor and singular appeal.
At every turn there is evidence of
Bebe’s early stage training. While her
flair for comedy is apparent in sev-
eral scenes, noticeably where she
“wisecracks” Johnny (Lloyd Hughes)
and the menace in the person of
Montague Love, it is in her emotion-
al work that Bebe rises to unsus-
pected heights.
i It is the first picture in which
l she has ever demonstrated fully her
dramatic powers.
In “Rio Rita,” the spectacular pro-
1 duction with which she made her
sound picture debut, there was a
glinipso of her ability to pull one’s
heart-strings, but in “Love Comes
1 Along” she surpasses anything she
i has done as yet on the screen.
| Excellent, too, are the songs as
sung by Bebe. If you happen to Ije
disgruntled with amateur screen
warblers take heart, for Bebe’s voice
is a delight and shows exceptionally
good training. When she holds the
gay fiesta crowd with the magic of
her singing, pouring out her love to
the boy as she does so, and after-
wards when the lyric sweetness of her
song reaches him over the waters,
bringing him back to rscue her a
second time, she likewise weaves a
spell over her audience.

teed.—Bill Williams, Phone 372-J.

The concert which was scheduled
for last night on the square, had to
be postponed on account of the rain.
It is planned to give the concert one
night next week.
The present band, which is having
a splendid attendance at every re-
hearsal, with new members joining,
is in dire need of financial support
if Mt. Pleasant is to have a band at
all. It is true that a sum of money
each month is being paid into the
Band Association—not the present
band. This money is being used to
pay off an old debt as quickly as pos-
sible, therefore leaving the present
band without any financial aid what-
ever.
The committee appointed the first
of this week to solicit funds for the
support of the band will continue
their efforts, and with the proper
support will assure Mt. Pleasant of a
band the year around.
If it doesn’t rain this evening, a
number of automobiles will be need-
ed to carry the band to Mt. Vernon
for a concert, leaving the fire sta-
tion at 6:30.

ICE COUPON BOOKS”
J
"KAMILY budgets — like good resolutions
sometimes hard to keep! It goes without say-
ing that you must watch food purchases caref ully,
buying some things here, some things there, to get
the best values. But that is not enough! After you
buy food, it must be kept fresh and sound until
you serve it. Here is where Ice comes in! Ice is the
cheapest refrigerant known. Low cost ice saves
high cost food!
And many have found that it pays them to use ice
coupon books regularly.
The coupon book method of purchas-
ing ice makes it easier to resist that
costly temptation to "let that little
piece of ice in there” do until tomor-
row. You never have to bother about
change. Coupon books are so much
more convenient, quicker and safer.
Ask your Southwestern Ice Salesman
for information on Southwestern Ice
Coupon Books.
