BROTHERLY LOVE
Last Big Push on Capitol Front
One Sunday morning a memebr of
a church that could not boast of a
new organ, met a friend who be-
longed to a church that had just
purchased one.
“I hear you’ve got a new organ,”
he said. “Now, all you need is a
monkey—”
“And all you need is an organ,
his friend answered with a smile.

Between twelve and fifteen thousand Bonus veterans stormed the
capitol on the closing day of Congress, their last big push which came
near getting out of control of the police. Bonus leaders as well as police
were glad when order was restored. Picture shows Police-chief GlasslorJ

The Advertisements
Printed for Your Convenience
Suppose all the advertisers in your Mt. Pleasant
newspapers should stop advertising for a week.
What inconvenience would result! How much
telephoning and shopping around to get the answers
to such questions as:
‘"What’s playing at the theatre? When will that
nev^ vacuum cleaner be on sale? Who is offering shoe
Jbargains? Where can I buy that dry shampoo Emily
told me about?”
The answers to these questions, and to hundreds
of similar ones that people ask every day, are news.
Vital news. You’re interested to learn who won yes-
terday’s ball game. But you’re really interested to
learn that a certain store is selling a product you need
for a price you can afford to pay.
Furthermore, the advertisements save your time
for you can read them quickly. They save your en-
ergy, for you can read them at home, away from the
pushing crowds, and plan just what to buy and where
to buy. And they save your money, by enabling you
to adjust your needs to the limitations of your budget.
In short, they are pocketbook editorials, condensing
and interpreting for you the merchandise news of the
day. ’$•:*&
