Getting Ready
For New Year
BUSINESS FIRMS' PREPARING
FOR THEIR NEXT YEAR'S
BUSINESS ■ •
Since Christmas is over, the streets
•of Mt. Pleasant are very quiet, and
little business is being done this
week.
Everybody is preparing for the new
year’s, business, and it is a very'-ap-
propriate time, as the reads of the
county, except for the main, highways
hqve been almost impassable, for sev*
era! days and no one comes to town,
anyway.
The merchants are all busy invoice
ting their stock,, so as to know' what
I will be needed for their business dur-
ing the next few months, and as us-
ual they will be ready to meet the
demands of thfeir customers in 1927.
Nearly everybody is optimistic ov-
er the future, and. although the cot- \
ton crop did not bring as much mon-
ey into the county uk was hoped for,
less of the money Will have to be
spent for feed and food, and the coun-
ty, as a whole, is better off-than last
year.

The Cotton Belt passenger trains

The -train which came in here Wed-

late because it had to wait that long
