THE BUS LINE
By DAN BUS '
GENE NOWLIN, who is visiting hero, said that when he
stepped off the air-conditioned plane thot brought him to Texas
from the northland yesterday, he was immediately reminded ot
a joke he had heard Hilly Graham tell while watching a telecast
of one of the Madison Square Garden meetings of the famed
evangelist.
Nowlin explained that Billy Graham told the story in his in*
limlmtory remanks at a iiiecting oil a day that a warm spell hit
New York.
It went something like this:
, A Texan, accustomed to the 110 and 115 degree tempera-
1 lures we have been known to have down here, moved up to
Minnesota. The first lime one of these cold s pee Is they have up
there dropped the temperature down to around 20 helow, the old
Texan promptly froze to death.
The frozen ground was 1oo hard to bury Ihe Texan in so
they decided to creamatc him.
After they though! thal sufficient time had elapsed to com-
plete tlie process, they opened the furnace door.
A voice from within yelled out:
“Who opened tfiat door and let that draft in here?”
