Devil’s Concubine.
Described as “A haunting
and twisted tale of murder” the
book was published by
BookLocker, a POD (Print on
Demand) self-publishing com-
pany gaining in popularity.
Landreth (a single parent
to three children since the death
of her husband several years
ago) said she got the idea for
Devil’s Concubine while
watching someone being
CARLA LANDRETH.
scalped on an old television
western. She couldn’t help but
wonder what if someone
scalped a person now? She said
she had a completed manu-
script in four months.
With several previous
books to her credit, Landreth
said she also recently complet-
ed “Talking to the Moon,” and
is currently working on another
novel, “Fatal Buttons.”
She encourages everyone
to come to Scarlet Ibis on
Saturday, get a personally
signed copy of Devil’s
Concubine, and even bring a
camera if you’d like to have
your photo taken with her. She
also encourages everyone to
“shop around in the store”
while there, because there’s
something for every budget.
