the number one apple pie maker in all
of Bosque County’ Then enter the
homemade apple pie contest, spon
sored by the Clifton 4-H Club Food
Project Group. There will be awards
presented to winners of first, second,
and third places
Entry fee is 91. Contestants should
bring their pie to the Clifton 4-H cook-
ing class table in the park before 9
a m. Judging starts at 9:30.
All pies become the property of the
Clifton 4-H cooking class and will be
sold to fund cooking lessons

Assignments To Be Made Wednesday
CLIFTON — With Freedom Fest
this Saturday, the countdown to pre-
paredness is underway.
Volunteers are asked to meet Wed-
nesday, June 26, at 5:30 p.m., at the
American Legion Hall for work as-
signments and to receive final layouts
illustrating activity areas of the park.
Then on Friday, June 28, the eve of
Freedom Fest, workers are aaked to
gather in the park to help install
tents, signs, and prepare the park for
the next day’s activities. The workday
begins at 9 a.m.

CLIFTON - Clifton High School
cheerleaders will be coordinating a
children’s area in the vicinity of the
gazebo during Freedom Feat this
Saturday.
Among attributes will be a moon
walk and a petting zoo (coordinated by
Texan Safari), with children's rides be-
ing considered.
The BCCFA is planning clowns and
mimes, along with a trampoline dis-
play featuring the BCCFA gymnas-
tics class.
Other Activity Booths
• Clifton Middle School cheerlead-
ers will be sponsoring a kissing booth
during Freedom Fest.
• Clifton Volunteer Fire Depart-
4-H Duck Race
Set For 5 p.m.
CLIFTON — Bosque County 4-H
will be sponsoring at 5 p.m. the
“Beastly Boaque Duck Race,” with
ducks being available at 93 each, or
two for 95. There will be a 9250 prize,
with all proceeds to underwrite 4-H
projects and scholarships in Boaque
County.
Those wishing to race should meet
at the Old River Bridge (by the VFW
Hall) at 4:30. For a duck or more in-
formation, contact Carla Stanford at
675-3768 or any 4-Her.
