Spaghetti dinner
The Onalaska Athletic
Booster Club will host a
spaghetti dinner from 6-8:30
p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18.
Cost is $5 for adults and
$3 for children with pro-
ceeds benefiting the student
athletes in the Onalaska
school system. There also
will be a silent auction of
items including meals at
local restaurants and sports
memorabilia.

Fall bazaar
The Taylor Lakes Estates
Ladies Club will host their
annual Fall Bazaar on Satur-
day, Sept. 20. Crafts, gifts,
bake sale, flea market and
a raffle are planned. Lunch

Highway 146 south from
Livingston to FM 2610 and
then go three miles to Taylor
Lake Road.
Hunter safety course
The Polk County Hunter
Safety Group will host a
hunter safety course starting
at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.
in the Polk County AgriLife
Center, 602 E. Church Street
in Livingston. Cost is $15
for hunters 12 years old and
above. The class will enroll

A special demonstration
on charcoal drawing w ill be
given by Kathy Love when
the Livingston Art League

served at noon and the meet-
ing w ill begin at 12:30 p.m.
with the drawing demonstra-
tion to follow. During the

AAUW meets

tor of the Angelina College
Polk County Center, will be
the speaker for the American
Association of University
Women's tirst meeting of the
2014-15 season. Wooten is
scheduled to discuss college
opportunities for girls and

Plant and bake sale
The annual plant and
bake sale hosted by the Polk
County Garden Club will
begin at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct.
3, at the Livingston Walmart.
The sale will continue until
all items are sold. Items to
be sold include pot plants,
cuttings, seeds and more as
well as cakes, pies, cookies,
candy and some sugar-free
items. Proceeds will benefit
the Vesta Neal High School
Scholarship Fund.

Blessing of animals
The First United Method-
ist Church of Onalaska. 700
South FM 356. will conduct
a blessing of the animals at
10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
Animals must be properly
restrained by a leash or in
a cage and all species are
welcome. The blessing will
take place on the south side
of the church.
Fall Feed Fundraiser
The Fall Feed Fundraiser
hosted by the South Polk
County Volunteer Fire De-
partment will be held from
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct.
4. The event will be at the
fire station at 3036 FM 2610
in the Ace community. The
all-you-can-eat event costs
$8 per person and the menu
w ill include soups or chili,

SPCA Fall Frolic
The SPCA of Polk County
will host its 4th Annual Fall
Frolic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
on Saturday. Oct. 18. at the
new building located at 802
South Houston Street (High-
way 146) in Livingston.
The SPCA is renovating
this facility to have more
room to care for the pets that
deserve a second chance at
a “Forever Home." Activi-
ties include a raffle, music,
food, games, vendor tables,
a silent and live auction with
Mayor Clarke Evans auc-
tioneering. The contests for
the cutest and most unusual
dogs are back bv popular
demand with prizes going to
the winners. Raffle tickets
are available at the SPCA
office or the day of the
event. Call the SPCA office

purchase tickets. The local
SPCA is a non-profit orga-
nization which is operated
by volunteers and receives
no federal, state or local tax
support. Funding is obtained
from events such as the Fall
Frolic and through donations
from local individuals and

Benefit Bike Run and Bike
