Gap PRIDE Group Plans
For Upcoming School Year

PRIDE (People Responsible In
Dynamic Education) met Aug 10 to
make plans for the upcoming school
year Meeting agendas and PRIDE-
sponsored events for this>year were
discussed
"Meet the Teachers Night' will be
actually be lield on two separate
nights this year to allow more time
for parents to talk with their child’s
teachers Aug 31. at 7 pm. is the
night for grades K-5 Sept 7, at 7 pm.
is the night for parents of students in
grades 6-12 to meet with teachers
The opportunity for parents to meet
with teacIters has been described as a
big success last year, and PRIDE is
hoping for a good response front
parents and the community on the
two evenings set aside for tliat
purpose.
Among upcoming activities of
PRIDE will be a meeting with school
board members, a special PRIDE-
sponsored event that will deal with
financial aid and college recruitment
for high school students, and a
planning session for the spring
academic fair
PRIDE is working to be a positive
support for the Cranfills Gap school
and its students Everyone involved in
the school or the community is
invited and encouraged to join
Kopperl Plans Open House
KOPPERL - Kopperl Independent
School District will hold an open
house on Thursday. Aug 19, from 6 30
pm to 830 pm at the school
cafeteria
The open house will include a
general meeting to introduce all new
staff members to the community A
discussion of new programs, and a
report from the Parent-Teacher
Organization of upcoming activities is
also planned
After the general session, school
officials encourage parents and
guardians to talk with their student's
teachers to find out more about the
student's upcoming year.

the school year is extremely
important in helping our students
perform at the highest possible level
throughout the 'school year,’

Rally Set
For Aug. 23
CLIFTON -The Clifton Girl
Scouts will have a rally on Monday.
Aug 23. at the Clifton Elementary
School cafeteria, from 630 to 730 pm
Promoters say that Girl Scouting
offers numerous fun activities, such as
arts, crafts, songs, games, and
camping.
Girl Scout leaders are needed for
new-forming troops in Clifton
There are five levels of Girl
Scouting, which gives volunteers an
opportunity to work with their choice
of special age group, or in an area of
personal interest
