HOUSTON - The recent in-
crease in the price of crude oil sent
pump prices slightly higher, ac-
cording to AAA Texas' Weekend
Gas Watch.
The Texas average price for
regular self-serve is about the same
as last week's average $2,204 a
gallon-42.0 cents above last year's
average.
Corpus Christi has the cheapest
average at $2,129 a gallon-a three
cents weekly increase. Dallas has
the highest average at $2,246-
about the same as a week ago.
"The recent rebound in crude oil
prices helped push retail gasoline
prices up," said Rose Rougcau,
spokesperson for AAA Texas.
"Unless crude prices move lower,
motorists can expect to see these
pump prices at least throughout the
summer."
The national average for regular
self-serve gasoline is $2,293, which
is 0.7 cent more than last week and
41 cents higher than last year's av-
erage.

Watch monitors the average price
of gasoline at popular destinations
