stole the show for the Alio
Yellowjackets In their Class A,
Division I quarterfinal game with
Joaquin here Friday night.
The senior quarterback rushed
for 74 yurds and two touchdowns,
completed 7-of-12 passes for 157
yards and two scores and
intercepted two passes to lead Alto
to its 27th straight victory and keep
the Yellowjackets in line to repeat
as state champion with a 47-6
victory over the Joaquin Rams at
Tatum High School Stadium here
Friday.
Alto (12-0) dominated the
Rams, holding them to 127 yards
offense and forcing four turnovers.
Alto scored early and often,
with five of its seven drives lasted
three plays or less.
The Yellowjackets broke out to
a 34-0 lead at the break, mixing in
big plays with a good drives that
ate up the clock.
Alto had 231 total yards at
intermission, paced on touchdown
runs of I and 7 yards by Mitchell
and his 19-yard puss for a score to
Brandon Thacker in the second
quurter.
The Yellowjuckcts' other scores
in the first half were a 56-yard
fumble return by Marcus Gasaway
and a 44-yard reverse on the last
play of the half by Devon Ihitlon.
Alto tucked on two touchdowns
in the fourth quurter on u 52-yard
pass from Mitchell to Mark Green
and a 31-yard run by Demnrctis
Grlflln.
The Yellowjackets held a

rushing.
The Rams completed just one

Joaquin (10-3) was led by Eric
Pcrmenter, who rushed for 62 yards
on 19 carries.
Gasaway rushed for 81 yards on
13 carries for Alto. Patton added 62
yards on two attempts, including
the reverse that completely caught
the Rams off guard. He raced down
the left sideline and broke two
tackles at about the 20-yard line on
a score in which time expired
during his run.
