FUnertd services for Opal R»1 Holley,
85, of Lufkin, who died April 6, in
Lufkin, were held Friday, April 7 at
the Gipson Funeral Hojne Chapel in
Lufkin with Rev. Jimmy Hedges of the
Calvary Baptist church, officiating.
Graveside services were at 11 a m.
April 8, in the Valley Mills Cemetery.
Bom Sept. 10,1909, on the old home-
stead of her grandparents, Tom M. and
Mellie C. Pbol, located six miles south
of Clifton, she was the daughter of
George Randal and Sena Bnnegar Pool.
She attended Center Point School
On Aug 9,1937, she married Harry
F. Holley, a native of the Spring Creek
community. In 1954, they moved to
Lufkin, where he was employed by
Natural Gas pipeline Company. A
homemaker, she especially enjoyed sew-
ing and gardening, and was a member
of the Calvary Baptist Church in
Lufkin, according to a family member.
She was preceded in death by her
parents five brothers, John C. Pool,
V, William Doyle Pool, Weldon Pool,
Jacob Pool, and Cecil B. Pool; and one
sister, Emma Jean Pool Cranfill.

HILLSBORO — Hospice of the Heart
Auxiliary will meet at 2 p.m. May 1,
in the East Conference Room of the
Whitney Hospital. The Memorial Day
fund raiser and future baseball tour-
nament w iUJast-discussed. "Patron merit-
in'rs are (hvited ..to attend, and neW
members are always welcome, said a'
spokesperson.
The mission statement is to enhance
the quality of life for terminally ill
patients and their families, according
to a spokesman, who added that the
proceeds benefit all persons without
regard to race, age, sex, religion, na-
tional origin, and ability to pay.
• Hospice of the Heart Auxiliary is a
non-profit organization serving the ter-
minally patients and their families in
Hill, Bosque, Ellis, Johnson, and
McLennan counties

Reunion will be held Sunday, April 23,
at the Cayote Community Center.
“All descendants of the family are
urged to attend,” said a spokesman.
Truman Pederson
Funeral services for Eugene Truman
Pederson, 69, of Pnddy. who died
Wednesday, Apnl 12, at his home, were
held at 2 p m. Saturday, April 15, at
, Zion Lutheran Church in Pnddy. Offi-
ciating were Rev. Melvin Hammer,
Rev. John Homerstad, Rev. Ben War-
renburg, Rev. B.I. Dahl, and Rev.
Lawrence Jenson. Burial was at Norse
Cemetery.
Born Sept. 21, 1925 in Clifton to
parents, Edwin and Malla Olson
Pederson, he was reared in Bosque
County. He served in the U S. Navy.
On Dec 2, 1950, he married La Verne
Cox in the Norse community. He and
his'family marde their home for several
years in Cranfills Gap, where he taught
school.
Prior to moving to Priddy in 1983.
he lived at Woodway. He was a retired
school teacher.
He is preceded in death by a daugh-
ter, Theresa Summers, and three broth-
ers, Emroy, O.J , and Mitchell
Pederson
Survivors include his wife, two sons
and daughters-in-law, Joe Ed and Kim-
berly Pederson of Aberdeen, Maryland,
and Tim arid Yolanda Pederson of Waco;
gne son-in-law and daughter, Ron and
Janie Thomas of Chandler. Arizona;
seven grandchildren, Kirsten, Kenneth,
Aaron and Shannon Pederson, Jodie
and Glenn Stotts, and Shelby Thomas;
one great-grandchild, Ashleigh Stotts,
two sisters, Jenny Mae Jensen and
Margie Cox, both of V'aco one brother,
Wendell Pederscyi oPClifton; and sev-
eral nieces and nephews.
Ruth Farrell Bourn,
Graveside services for Ruth Farrell
Bourn, 70, of Meridian, who died Sun-
day, April 9, in a Waco hospital, were
held at 2 p.m Wednesday, April 12, at
the family cemetery on the Farrell'
Ranch, located between Meridian and
Iredell. Rev. John Avmond officiated.

in charge of arrangements
Bom Jan. 11,1925, in Waco, she was
reared in Waco, where she graduated
from Waco High School. Prior to work-
ing several years at the Hehren Drug
in Waco, she attended the University
of Texas in Austin where she was a
member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.
She mafried Ben Bourn on July 7,
1945, making their hon^e in various
parts of the county while he was em-
ployed with an oil company. They lived
in New Orleans for seven years before
moving to the family ranch near Me-
ridian in 1978. She was a member of
the Methodist Church
Pallbearers were Dr. Robert Mezger,
Wilson Phillips, Gary Phillips, Allen
Baird, Scott Baird, and Bill Baird.
Survivors include her husband; one
brother, Baylis Farrell of Lubbock, sev-
eral nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Memorials may be sent to the Ameri-
can Lung Association'.

by both Houses of Congress and signed by the President; and

cans to join in united prayerito give thanks for blessings received, to
request healing for wounds endured, and to ask for,divine guidance for
our leaders and bring wholeness to the United States and its citizens,

are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my
face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin and will heal their land"; and
WHEREAS, the power of prayer, and the power of God through prayer,
have been at the core of the shared American experience throughout our
countries history.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Truman Blum, Mayor of the City of Clifton,

Harmon-Wilson Exchange Wedding Vows
CLIFTON - Sabrina Renae Wilson and Carlton
Wayne Harmon were united in marriage Satur-
day, March 18,1995, at the First Baptist Church
in Clifton Rev Frank Horak, Jr. of Stephenville
performed the double-ring ceremony
The bride is the daughter of Mrs Frances
Cowart of Waco, and Dwame Wilson of Valley
Mills. Grandparents are Dorothy R Wilson of
Valley Mills, and Betty Hull of Waco
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Harmon of Clifton. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs.
Coke E. Harmon of Spartenburg, S.C., and Mr
and Mrs. James E. Fountain of Vidalia, Ga. ,
Given in marriage and escorted by her father,
the bride Wore a formal satin gown, designed and
made by her mother. The pnncess-lined dress had
a sweetheart neckline, a pearl-edged heart shaped
cutout in the back and swept out .into a full chapel
train Both dress and train were decorated with
hand beaded pearls and sequins. Her bouquet was
of variegated roses
For the traditional “old, new, borrowed and
blue," she carried a handkerchief, which had be-
longed to her great-great-grandmother Knust, her
entire outfit was new; and she wore a ring with a
blue stone, borrowed from the groom's sister
As she entered the church chancelv the bride
presented a long-stemmed rose to her mother, and
made a similar presentation to the groom'is mother

sister, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids wffre
Stgfanie Bevels, Candice Jones, Charity WilsoV
and Sheryl Le May All were attired in off-the-

shoulder, floor length, wine gowns
The groom wore a white, vested tuxedo with
tails. The groomsmen wore navy blue tuxedos,
with wine cumberbunds and ties Best man was
James Stover. The groomsmen were Dwain
Michael Wilson, Jr., B.J Brewer, Richard
Hullender, and Daniel Harmon.
The groomsmen acted as ushers, and Stephen
Cowart, brother of the bnde, and Mac Harmon,
brother of the groom, were candlelighters.
DeAnna Cowart, sister of the bride, was the
flower girl", and James Harmon, brother of the
groom, was the ring bearer.
Orgarf music was presented by, Mrs. Larry
Schulz of.Clifton. Soloist was Amber Stephens,
cousin of the bridei who sang “Now and For-
ever," “Love Can Build a Bridge,” and “Wind
Beneath My Wings "
Miss Christy Cvimmmgs presided at the guest
book. .
The reception was held at the Cgurtney House
in Clifton, where the guests were served with
trays of meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, and
dips The all-white wedding cake, elevated over
a flowing fountain and decorated with filagree
staircases and natural flowers, was made by
the bride's grandmother Wilson. Serving cake
t were Kristie Matus and-Lon Page Punch was
served by Janet Wilson, the bride’s aunt, from
a" champagne fountain in a gazebo, especially
built forthe occasion by Dan Wilson, IV, uncle
of the bride. '
