GRAND CHAMP AT STATE FAIR - "Race
Runner 514 9R” was named the Grand Champi-
on Bull at the State Fair of Texas on Oct 5. The
bull was named the State Polled Hereford Bull
in Belton two weeks earlier. This is the second
year in a row Race Runner was named the State
Fair of Texas Champion Bull.
Race Runner will show in Clifton on Oct 36.
The bull is owned by Kenneth and Carolyn Lar-
son of Larson's Polled Hereford*, Clifton.

CLIFTON - The 1991 Go Texan
Fun Day will be held in Iredell on
Nov. 9, and will coincide with the an-
nual Bosque County Hay Show.
Only Bosque County residents are
eligible to participate in the Go Tex-
an events.
Entry deadline for the barbecue
cookoff event is Nov. 8 (brisket divi-
sion only), at 6 p.m. The barbecue will
be judged on Saturday, the 9th, at
3:30 p.m. Entry fee is $25.
Horseshoe pitching will start at 9
a.m. with the men’s contest. The wom-
en’s contest will begin immediately
upon completion of the men's division.
Boys’ and girls’ divisions will follow
the women’s.
Washer pitching will start at 1 p.m.
with the adult division. This year,
there will be a junior washer pitching
with kids 14 years and younger. This
will follow the adult division.
Women’s hay hauling will start at
1 p.m., followed by men’s hay hauling.
Quilts must be entered between 10
and 11 a.m. on Nov. 9 and remain on
display until 4:30 p.m.
Dm year, there will be a single
domino tournament (no partners).
All winners must compete in
Houston in order for a student to win
a substantial scholarship. According
to Bosque County promoters, “It is
very important for our county to com-
pete at the Go Texan Fun Days in
Houston at the Astrodome.”

• Tuesday, Oct. 15-Meridian at
the CAUSE, Inc. Center, 1-3 p.m.; and
Cranftlls Gap at City Hall, 3:30-4:30

• Tuesday, Oct 22-Morgan at the
Community Center, 1:30-2:30 p.m;
and Walnut Springs at the City An-
nex, 3-4 p.m.
Anyone whose white eligibility card
is dated October 1990 or before must
vied a CAUSE, Inc. office before Oct.
RS, 1991, to be recertified to receive
commodities during after October
1991. Proof of family income should
be brought to the office.
