Four County High Schools
Slate Commencement Friday
CLIFTON — Graduation is just
around the corner for four Bosque
County high schools that have
scheduled commencement on Fri-
day, May 22.
Clifton High School will hold its
graduation ceremonies on Friday,
May 22, at 8 p.m., at Cub Stadium
(weather permitting). If Inclement
weather is at hand, the ceremonies
will be held at Bettis Auditorium.
Walnut Springs High School will
host graduation ceremonies begin
ning at 7:30 p.m on Friday in the
school gymnasium.
Meridian and Valley Mills High
Stars Named
FIRST-GRADE STAR STUDENTS — Clifton Elementary School Princi-

ceremonies on Friday, May 22, at
the respective gymnasiums, begin-
ning at 8 p.m.
May 29 Graduations
Cranfills Gap and Morgan High
Schools will hold graduation cer-
emonies on Friday May 29, at 7
p.m., while Iredell High School
graduation will begin at 8 p m., the
same evening. All three schools will
hold the commencement in the
school gymnasiums.
June 5 Graduation
Kopperl High School will hold its
commencement on Friday, June 5,
at 7 p.m., in the Kopperl School
gymnasium.
Summer School
Registration
Slated At CHS
CLIFTON - Clifton High School
is offering summer school during
the summer break with two ses-
sions, allowing students to earn up
to one full credit. Registraion will
be held May 26, from 8 a.m. until
noon.
Tentative course offerings in-
clude:
• English 1-4.
• Algebra 1-2, Informal Geom-
etry, and Geometry.
• Health.
• Speech.
• Spanish 1, available during first
session only.
• 'Homemaking Vocational
courses. .
• Micro Computer Applications.
In keeping with the recommen-
dations of the Texas Education
Agency, the schedule will be as fol-
lows:
• Summer Session 1 — June 1
through June 19, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.
• Summer Session 2 — July 6
through July 24, 7:30 a.m to 12:30
p.m.
The tuition is be $125 per course
{Vi credit) for in-district students
grades 9-12. The cost will be $150
per course for out-of-district stu-
dents grades 9-12.
Summer school work is highly
concentrated and it is almost im-
possible to make up missed work.
A student who is absent more than
two times from a class, for any rea-
son, cannot receive credit. There
will not be a refund for any reason.
Two tardies equal one absence.
Registration for summer school
will be held on May 26, from 8 a.m.
to noon at Clifton High School. Tu-
ition must be paid in full at that
time. Both the student and a par-
ent must attend the registration.

CHS ‘Project
Graduation’
Set Friday
CLIFTON — The parents of Clif-
ton High School seniors will host
Project Graduation for the 1998 se-
nior class following commence-
ment exercises FYiday,May22 (see
related story in The Clifton
Record). The project is an all-night
alcohol-free and chemical-free
party for senior class members
only.
The party will provide food, fun,
prizes, and entertainment to help
students celebrate this milestone in
their academic career. The event is
financed by donations from busi-
nesses, organizations, and individu-
als.
Participation by CHS seniors has
grown each year, and organizers
expect a successful endeavor again
this year.

Clifton Senior Class of 1998, c/o Clif-

TAAS Summer
Exit Level Tests
Slated At CHS
CLIFTON - Clifton High School
will be holding TAAS Exit Level
Testing for out-of-school and out-of-
district examinees, as well as for
students of the district, on July 14-
16, beginning at 8:30 am
Students who were in the 10th
12th grades in the spring of 1998,
are eligible to take any section of
the exit level test that has not been
mastered.
Anyone who wishes to test must
complete a registration form if he
is an out-of-school examinee, or if
he wishes to test out-side of his dis
trict A completed registration form
must be received in Iowa City no
later than June 12.

Summer Camps
Slated at Clifton
Dance Studio
CLIFTON— The Central Texas Acad
emy of Performing Arts in Clifton has
slated three summer camps beginning
in June. The first camp will be a begin-
ner baton twirling camp for ages 6-11. The
class will be June 15-19, and the tuition is
$30
The second camp, a cheerleader,
dance, pom and beginning tumbling will
be held June 22-26 from 10:30 to noon for
ages 3-5; and from 1 to 2:30 pm for ages
6-10. The tuition is $30.
A cheer/danoe camp will be held July
6-10 for junior and senior high girls. The
tuition is $40.
