He is a native of Gatesville,
where he grew up and went to

His background includes two
associate degrees in law en-
forcement, one in corrections

He is also only nine hours shy

Council Terminates Agreement
With Clifton Code Officer Kruse
By Carol Moulton
STAFF REPORTER
CLIFTON — Durin
Monday’s Clifton City Counci
meeting, Mayor Raymond Zue-
hlke spoke to the council and
visitors about the petition that
| had been filed with the council
last month that asked for the
city to fire Code Enforcement
Officer Dennis Kruse.
Zuehlke said, “You’re not just
asking me fire a man, but you
are asking me to take away his
ability to make a living.”
Regarding the petition’s
credibility, Zuehlke said that he
had called 50 of the names on
the petition and that the re-
sponses he received basically
said that the people had signed
the petition because of things
they heard, or because they
had beoMslmd to sign the pe-
tition by a neighbor.
“I’m vary concerned that
they (those who signed the pe-
tition) have become so callous
that they would take away a
man’s livelihood, just because
someone asked them to,” said
Zuehlke.
Zuehlke went on to say that
the petition would not be a rec-
ommendation for the council to
fire anyone; however, he did
want to thank the people who
had personally talked to hint
about their concerns.
He added that the agree-
ment the city had with the
Code Officer could be termi-
nated with or without cause,
and he said, “I do recommend
that we terminate the service
agreement with the Code En-
forcement Officer.
