Moody Stone Jackson. Jr.
John B. Rozell
LIVINGSTON — Funeral serv-
ices for Moody Stone Jack on Jr.,
73, of Livingston were held Wed-
nesday, May 17, 1995, from the
First United Methodist Church,
with Dr. T. Mac Hood and Dr. Bill
Skaar officiating. Interment fol-
lowed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
VFW Post 8568 and the Sons of
Confederate Veterans provided
honor guards.
Mr. Jackson died May 14 in
Methodist Hospital in Houston.
He was bom Sept 1, 1921 in
Humble, Harris County, the son of
Moody Stone Jackson and Mattie
Dunham Garvey Jackson. He was
educated in Houston public
schools, graduating from Stephen
F. Austin High School in Houston
in 1938. In 1942 he received a BA
degree from Rice Institute. He
married his wife, Vivian, on June
20,1942 in Houston.
Mr. Jackson joined the U.S. Air
Force in 1943, serving as a
navigator, and was honorably dis-
charged as a first lieutenant in Sep-
tember, 1945. He was employed by
Fort Worth Steel and Machinery
Co. in Fort Worth from June, 1942
until Dec. 31,1960, serving as vice
president of sales and as a member
of the board of directors. In
January, 1961 he became employed
with Jackson’s Farm and Electric
Supply, Inc. in Livingston as vice
president and director and served as
the company's president and chair-
man of the board of directors from
1967-88.
Mr. Jackson also served as presi-
dent and director of the Multiple V-
Belt Drive and Mechanical Power
Transmission Association, presi-
dent and director of the Polk Coun-
ty Chamber of Commerce, member
of the board of directors of the East
Texas Chamber of Commerce,
president of the Power Transmis-
sion Distributors Association,
Lions Club, Heritage Society, His-
torical Commission, Sons of Con-
federate Veterans, Sons of the
American Revolution, Memorial
Medical Center Auxiliary in
Livingston, VFW Post 8568 and
was selected as Polk Countian of
the Year in 1992.
Mr. Jackson was an active mem-
ber of the First United Methodist
Church, where he was member and
chairman of the Administrative
Board, member of the Friendship
Sunday School Class, and served
on several other boards and in
numerous posts in the church.
Survivors include his wife,
Vivian P. "Jackie" Jackson of
Livingston; daughters, Teresa J.
Burman of Livingston and Helen J.
Ghaemmaghami and husband
Shane of Livingston; son, Moody
Stone Jackson III and wife Linda of
Livingston; granddaughters, Kelly
J. King and husband Danny of
Woodville, and Kerri L. Jackson,
Kristen B. Johnson, Konnie S. Bur-
man and Mitra Elizabeth Ghaem-
maghami. all of Livingston;
grandsons, Kevin W. Burman and
wife Tara of Quantico, Va., and
Moody Stone Jackson IV, James
Omid Ghaemmaghami, Shane
Amir Ghaemmaghami, Adam Azod
Ghaemmaghami and Alan Ali
Ghaemmaghami, all of Livingston;
great-grandsons, Kristopher M.
Johnson of Livingston, Kenneth D.
Johnson of Livingston, Kenneth
Blake Burman of Quantico, Va.
and Travis Kade Burman of Quan-
tico, Va.; brother, Jack G. Jackson
and wife Faye of Livingston; sister-
in-law, Bess Johnson of Houston;
uncle, J.T. Jackson of Fort Worth;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dr. Bob Cook,
Jimmy Phillips, Kevin Burman,
Tiffin Johnson III, Garvey Jackson,
Sidney Smith, Roger Alexander
and Bubba Rowe. Honorary pal-

Peebles, E. Joe Pedigo, Morris
Tate, Ben R. Ogletree, John

ices for John B. Rozell, 87, of
Goodrich were held Monday, May
i5, 1995, from Goodrich United
Methodist Church, with Dr. Wil-
liam C. Jones and the Rev. Thomas
Price officiating. Interment fol-
lowed in Peebles Cemetery.
Mr. Rozell died Saturday, May
13, in Livingston.
jHe was bom March 9, 1908 in
Knight, the son of John Wesley
Rozell and Sarah Anne Hebert He
retired from the ministry in 1986,
having entered the ministry 'in
1947. He served churches in the
Texas Conference - Prairie Hill
Lula Mae Marsh
LIVINGSTON - Funeral serv-
ices for Lula Mae Marsh, 91, of
Livingston were held Monday,
May 15,1995, from Central Baptist
Church, with Dr. Bill Skaar of-
ficiating. Interment followed in
Forest Hill Cemetery. \
Mrs. Marsh died May 12 in
Houston.
She was bom Nov. 30, 1903 in
Stamps, Ark., the daughter of
Lemuel and Georgie Altom. She
moved to Eastland County at an
early age and received her early
education there, finishing school in
Bering. On Nov. 30, 1924 she
married Camie B. Marsh, who
preceded her in death in August,
1971. She was also preceded in
death by a son, Camie Marsh.
Survivors include her daughters
and son-in-law, Nelda Jean and
Frank Fowler of Metairie, La., and
Corrie Marsh Richards of Austin;
nine grandchildren; and 14 great-
grandchildren.
Mrs. Marsh was a member of the
Pilot Club.
Pallbearers were Bill Hastings,
Bob Hastings, Mike Stanford,
Doug Stanford, Joseph MacKinnon
and Randy McDonald. Honorary
pallbearers were Gene Bush, John
Thompson, Allen Peebles, Trigger
Moore, Dr. Albert Delaney and Dr.
Jack Marsh.
Cochran Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
Circuit, Bedias Circuit, and
churches in Centerville, Garrison,
Laird Hill, Clute, Grapeland,
Edgcwood, Brownsboro, Lovelady,
Buffalo and supply pastor in Joa-
quin, Wallaceville and Wells. He
was a life member of Centerville
Masonic Lodge No. 1291 AF&AM
and a member of the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife,
Vadne Rozell of Goodrich; four
sons, Arthur Himel Rozell and wife
Jo Ann of Houston, John B. Rozell
Jr. and wife Betty, Paul Edward
Rozell and wife Sara of Highlands,
and Jim Longshore and wife Bar-
bara of Houston; daughter, Ettie
Lou Craig and husband Allen of
Duncanville; sister, Gertrude Davis
and husband Joe E. Jr. of Segno; 15
grandchildren 'and 21 great-
grandchildren.

charge of arrangements.
DALLARDSVlLLE - Big San-
dy Elementary. School will ’have
preregistration for students in
grades kindergarten through eight
not presently enrolled in the Big
Sandy ISD on Friday, May 19.
The preregistration is for the
1995-% school year and will be
held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the
Superintendent's Office.
Requirements for children enter-
ing kindergarten are: Children must
be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1,
1995. The state requires a copy of
the child’s birth certificate, an up-
to-date shot record and Social
Security card.

CORRIGAN - Funeral services
for Jo J. Arnold, 67, of Corrigan
were held Sunday, May 14, 1995,
from Union Springs Baptist
Church, with the Rev. James Brock
officiating. Interment followed in
Stryker Cemetery.
Mrs. Arnold was bom May 9,
1928 in the Camp Ruby community
of Polk County and died Friday
night. May 12, in Memorial Medi-
cal Center, Lufkin. She was a
homemaker and a member of
Union Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband,
Loyd F. Arnold of Corrigan;
daughters and son-in-law, Linda
and Tommy Adams and children,
Stephanie, Zackary and Alexander
of Corrigan, and Phoebe Shepherd
of Houston; sons and daughters-in-
law, Clifford Shepherd of Corrigan
and sons, Brad and Michael
Shepherd of Lufkin, daughter,
Sherry Gurka of Houston, Tim and
Stella Shepherd of Corrigan and
Henry and Mary Shepherd of Cor-
rigan; sister, Riddie Bacon of Cor-
rigan; six great-grandchildren and
numerous other relatives and
friends.
