volved in different news indus-
tries in Dallas at the time of the
assassination and all were on
the front lines Nov. 23, 1963.
The book, entitled When The
News Went Live: DdUas 1963,
covers an account of their
minute-by-minute eye witness-
ing and reporting of the trag- •

involvement in the day, and the
following weeks, as well as
their reasons for deciding to
work together to write the
book.

Children’s Advocacy Centers
of Texas (CACTX) Legislative
Excellence Award. Averitt,
who has been long-time advo-
cate of the centers’ unique
approach to protecting chil-
dren while aggressively pur-
suing and prosecuting child
abusers, was one of only two
legislators recognized for
their 80th Session efforts on
the centers’ behalf.
