j 'Witch' may need to look for another place to work
Deer Am Landers: I am a
practitioner of« nature-band ratif-
too called Wicca. I am a witch.
Moat people who know little about
ui think we are weird. We do not
worship Satan. That is a Christian
concept. We do not believe in Sa-
tan. We do not sacrifice living
things, human or animal. Our first
tenet ts ' Harm none. "
Three months ago, a co-worker,
"Miss R," noticed the silver penta-
gram I wear around my neck, and
commented that it was a satanic
symbol. I informed her, as I do oth-
ers who inquire, of my basic be-
liefs. Most people accept my ex-
planation, but not Miss R. She has
made it her mission to "save” me
and convert me to her religion.
She tapes Bible verses to my
computer screen, and puts religious
tracts on my desk. I've told Miss R
that 1 am not interested in convert-
ing, but she doesn't hear me. The
woman is a religious nut, and she
is driving me crazy. Yesterday she
came up betiind me and "baptized"
me with bottled water.
Miss R is close to retirement
age, and I don't want to get her
fired. I have already complained to
management, and she has been
warned If I complain again, the
will undoubtedly lose her Job. How
can I get her to lay off? •• Jenni-
fer In New York.
Dear Jennifer) There It no
wey you can get a religious fanatic
to "lay off." She believes the it do-
ing the Lord's work, and nothing
will deter her. Avoid this woman
like the plague. Be "buty" when
the comes around. Do NOT let her
watte your time. Tell her, "1 have a
lot of work to do, and we'll talk
when I catch up." Throw out the re-
ligious muteriul she places on your
computer If you are not willing to
report this woman for harassing
you, your only alternative is to
look for another job yourself. Good
luck.
Dear Ann Landers: I am a
cardiac nurse, and am hoping you
will print something about a major
health concern that is overlooked by

Hypertension U a silent killer. It
can cause heart failure, kidney All-

occulted, little can be done. Yet,
simple changes in lifestyle and
medications can prevent it.
Please tell all your readers, but
especially African-Americans, to
have themselves screened for hyper-
