Clifton went to Axtell last Thursday,
falling to the Lady Longhorns, 16-8.

would steal the ball, and then turn
it over,” said Coach Vikki Moore.

The event, held for those with
physical or mental disabilities,
welcomes people or groups of all
ages who often do not get an op-
portunity to enjoy free fishing,
games, entertainment, and re
freshments, “all in one place on
the same day.”
Those with disabilities can be a
special education class member,

injury accident, a stroke or can-
cer patient, those struggling with
birth defects, or an individual in a
nursing home, to name a few ex-
amples.
“All of us age, and there are
many infirmities like arthritis,
diabetes, Alzheimer disease,
blindness, or deafness, that rob us
of some of life’s little pleasures
like catching a fish, dancing, or
throwing a ball,” said spokesman
Beverly Grisham.
Event organizers include
Grisham and Butch Shaw of
MHMR/Heart of Texas Industries,
and McLennan County Pet 1 Con-
stable Travis Bailey, The event in

ment No license is required, and
tackle and bait will be provided,"
Grisham explained.
In addition to fishing, the event
offers prize drawings, karaoke,
live entertainment, and refresh
ments.
“Dress warmly due to the cold
temperatures required inside for
the trout,” Grisham reminds.
