CLIFTON RECORD CITY EDITOR
CLIFTON—Contingent on certain in-
surance stipulations, the City Council ap-
proved seeking a Federal Aviation
Administration variance application for
members of the U.S. Aerobatics Team.
The team plans to hold an aerobatics prac-
tice day at the Clifton Municipal Airport

A group of between five and 10 compe-
tition pilots who will be competing in world
competitions in Germany and France this

Paul Donner, captain of the U S. Ad-
vanced Tham, as well as other pilots in his
team plan to attend. David Martin, captain
of the U.S. Unlimited Tteam, will be flying
his high-power French aircraft.
“This event will bring an exciting avia-
tion activity to our airport, provide a nice
venue for pilots to practice, and provide a
dramatic form of entertainment to Clifton
citizens on Memorial Day,” said a spokes-
man in a letter to City Administrator Chad
I). Nehring.
Nehring told the Council that insurance
will be provided through the team, with the
City of Clifton and Clifton Aero being
named as co-insureds.
Alderman Dennis Johnson asked if
there Ls also a waiver of subrogation in

there Ls not, but that it should not be a prob-
lem to obtain the waiver.
The Council approved seeking the vari-
ance, pending issuance of the insurance
and the waiver of subrogation sought by
