hnf Your Candidate For
■|k District Judge
Wm BELIEVE:
1. In eliminating internal strife among the citizens of our fine
counties, Cities and the nation su .that uur children will reap benefit from our
efforts. anrf thus preserve the honor and dignity of our people, and that we may produce fine citi-
zens and leaders who will be secure and happy, and who will spread good will and peace between
neighbors in cities, counties and nations of the world.
2. In getting down to work and giving the people of Hardin
and Tyler Counties a well planned week’s work with a Plan,
or blue print for good Court procedure, such as:
(a) . By seeing that both attorneys in each case set are
ready, available and on time at the Courthouse, ready for
trial with their clients and witnesses.
(This can be done by the Judge working ahead of time, and a little extra, with the attorneys in
setting the docket for each week.)
(b) . By picking more than one jury for the week,
than one case can be disposed of in one week. This will save time and money for the county in the
long run, for eventually all cases will have to be tried.
(c) . In getting right down to business and letting the jurors
get down to work, OR GO HOME; and in trying more than
one case per week, if at all possible. In not keeping jurors
waiting as a captured audience, with political speeches.
I assure you good people of Hardin and Tyler Counties that
all of the above procedures mentioned are available to any
Judge. Please check the procedures used in the Courts of
other counties around us, or check with some attorney, and
yOU Will See that they are used and ifcarried oul, they ran be very cftrrlivc in
clearing our dockets for less money, in less time, and still give speedy justice to all parties according
to law.
Ill Closing, I have IIO IdbelSa My name is Clyde E. Smith, Jr, 1 am an imlividu.il
with a good wife and six children, a citizen of this good district, and who is QUALIFIED to serve
you with all my energies with fairness, impartiality,, and according to law. 1 am an attorney who
has made a living by hard work and am experienced in ail of the Courts of many counties out of
this district, and in this, my own district, primarily; and I can make a living, if defeated as your
District Judge; but, I respectfully want to make it clear that I want to serve you good people and
will not disappoint you, if elected, but I promise I WILL NOT disrespect anyone in Hardin nr
Tyler Counties, if defeated, but that I will abide by the democratic process and close ranks in work-
ing for a happier and more prosperous community.
Togetherness molds a strong people. Being divided weak-
ens our entire social, economic and governmental structure.
Let’s close ranks and work for progress in our Courthouse
and community after each and every election, regardless of
who wins.
Respectfully submitted,
CLYDE E. SMITH, JR.
