Restaurant officially opens
Vickie and Charles Morgan, manager, cut the ribbon marking
the official grand opening of Country Inn Restaurant, on the
U.S. SI Bypass Just south of US. 190. Holding the ribbon are
Vicky Blackstock and Sharon Warren. Others shown welcom-
ing the new restaurant to the area include members of the Polk
County Chamber of Commerce, along with other wellwishers.
Among the speakers at the grand opening, held Thursday,
were Chamber President George Vannoy and Livingston
Mayor Pro-Tem Beamon Davis.

Burkhalter, and Richard
Whatley, will attend the East
District (9) 4-H Leadership
Lab, June 20-22. The lab will
be at the Texas Power and
Light Company Youth Camp
at Trinidad, Texas.
A maximum of four
delegates per county are
eUgible to participate. This
year’s theme, “Building
your Tomorrow Today
Through Leadership,’’ con-
centrates on leader develop-
ment. The event is co-
sponsored by the Texas
Agricultural Extension Ser-
vice and the Bruce
McMillan, Jr. Foundation of
Overton.
All lab participants will be
assigned various respon-
sibilities throughout the
three day training session.
The first night, each county
delegation will participate in
an Idea Exchange to share
successful 4-H activities or
programs from their county.
Cynthia Orms, chairman
of the State 4-H Council, Har-
rison County, is the keynote
