Annual Clifton Cubs Football Camp Starts July 19

CLIFTON — The 2004 Clifton
Cub Football Camp is scheduled
Monday through Thursday, July
10-22. The camp will be based at
the Cub Stadium fieldhouse and
the practice fields across from the
high school and middle school
campuses.
The purpose of the camp is to
learn fundamental football
skills and techniques in all as-
pects of the game, including
passing, rushing, receiving,
blocking, and pass and run de-
fense. All boys entering grades
five through nine this fall are
eligible to attend.

Saturday Deadline Set For
Fall Soccer League Sugn-Up
WACO — Registration is now under way for the fall season of the
Heart of Texas Soccer Association. Registrations are due no later than
this Saturday, June 26.
Leagues are open to boys and girls ages four
(must have turned four by July 31) through 17.
Registrations fee, which includes uniforms, is $55
per child. The season is set to begin Saturday, Aug.
28.
Mail-in registrations are accepted, and walk-up
registration is planned Saturday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
HOT Soccer office in Waco. Registration forms are available at the of-
fice (555 Westview Village) or on the website (www.hotsoccer.net).

Track Meet Scheduled Next Thursday
HAMILTON—The second annual
Hamilton summer open track meet
will be held Thursday, July 1, start-
ing at 4 p.m. Field and running events
are planned for boys and girls in sev-
eral age divisions, including (with
year of birth in brackets) Pee Wee
[1996-1998], Bantam [1994-95],
Midget [1992-93], Junior [1990-91],
Intermediate [1988-89], and Senior
[1965-87],
The meet will be held at the Hamil-
ton ISD track facilities. For more in-

100 Holes For Hope
Golf Marathon Set
Aug. 30th In Temple
TEMPLE — Hope Pregnancy
Centers, Inc. of Temple/Killeen/Cop-
peras Cove will host its 5th annual
golf marathon, “100 Holes For
Hope,” to be held Monday, Aug. 30,
at Wildflower Country Club in
Temple.
Men and women both are invited
to play 100 holes of golf. There is a
$100 fee per golfer, and each must
commit to giving their best effort to
raise $2,500 for Hope Pregnancy
Centers. Last year the players com-
peted for a new vehicle by attempt-
ing to hit a hole-in-one. Other prizes
will be awarded for feats such as
longest drive, closest to the pin, and
others.
HPC is a Christ-centered minis-
try offering practical support to
men, women, and youth to make in-
formed choices regarding sexual
integrity, pregnancy, and the sanc-
tity of human life.

said this year’s camp will divide
campers into two age groups.
Boys in grades five through
seven will meet from 8 to 10 a.m.,
with boys entering grades eight
and nine meeting from 10 a.m.
to 12 noon.
Campers should wear T-shirts,
gym shorts, and rubber cleats or
tennis shoes to camp. Water and
Gatorade will be provided.
Cost of the camp is set at $30 per
camper, which includes a camp T-
shirt.

Baptist Church Golf
Tournament Saturday
VALLEY MILLS — The First
Baptist Church of Valley Mills will
hold a golf tournament Saturday,
June 26, at Greenbrier Golf Club
in Moody. The tournament had
been scheduled earlier but was
postponed due to poor weather
conditions.
Entry fee is $130 per four-per-
son team in the shotgun start,
best-ball tourney. Teams and
sponsors are still being sought for
the event.
