The Polk County Chamber of
Commerce will hold their first
"Western Hoedown” on March 7 at
the VFW Hall on U.S. 59 North.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m.
and will include lots of fun and
activities.
Walter Plant will provide the en-
tertainment for the evening. Look
forward to a mix of music per-
formed by a local favorite. Dona-
tions from chamber members will
comprise the items for the silent
auction. Past items have included
vacation packages and merchan-
dise. This is your chance to get
some good deals on quality stuff.
A long-running part of this event
has been the ‘Take Stock in Your
Chamber” drawing.. Purchase a
stock certificate from any board
member, ambassador or at the
chamber office to get your chance
in this fun part of the evening. A
total of 300 stock certificates will
be sold for $100 each. Drawings
will begin at the start of the eve-
ning. There will be six cash prizes
awarded with the first being $250.
Each successive winner receives
higher cash prizes. The owner of
the last certificate drawn will re-
ceive $10,000.
This is the main fund-raiser for
the chamber and monies from this
event go to support all of the
chamber programs. Tickets for the
event are only $10. Find a group of
people to buy a certificate and
come out to enjoy this evening of
fun to show your support for our
local chamber of commerce.
The chamber will be moving
their office to the new building at
Pedigo Park this weekend. They
will be ready for visitors next week
in this highly visible spot.
