Felony tire theft, burglary of vehicle charged

Theft charged
A complaint of felony theft is being
drawn against Morgan Wyatt m of
Livingston in connection with the
theft of tires from Western Auto.
Steve Denham reported Monday
that approximately 21 tires, valued
at over (2,000, had been taken from
the rear of the store. Investigation
determined most of the tires had
later been sold to Gokey’s Service
Station, Macomber said.
Wyatt was interviewed by Sgt.
Jim Harwood Tuesday morning and
admitted to multiple thefts from
Western Auto’s storage area bet-
ween April 1 and 13, according to the
police chief.
Stolen vehicles recovered
Two stolen vehicles have also been
recovered by authorities. Officer
Harry Plank discovered a 1977 Jeep
CV, which had been hot-wired, park-
ed at the former Paper Sack on
North Washington Street Tuesday.
In the meantime, Carol Hawkins
discovered her Jeep had been taken
from Pine Hill Apartments. The
Jeep has been returned to its owner.
Montgomery County sheriffs of-
ficers notified Livingston police Sun-
day that a 1986 Ford van had been
abandoned in that county. Local
authorities determined the van had
been taken in a March 8 burglary at
Blair-Duncum Motors, Macomber
said.
Charges filed
Carrie Ann Hudson reported Fri-
day that someone had taken an
AM/FM stereo cassette player,
speakers and a black purse with con-
tents from her 1968 Plymouth park-
ed on West Church Street. Through a
description obtained by Farrar from
two witnesses, Officers Adam
Thomason and Harry Plank located
a suspect and, following a short pur-
suit, arrested 19-year-old Ellic
Flores Jr. of Livingston. Flores has
been charged with burglary of a
vehicle. The stolen items have been
recovered.
A charge of forgery by passing has
been filed against Dameron Wayne
Siicox, a/k/a Dameron Wiggins, in
connection with the forgery and
passing of six checks on the account
of Century II Printing Co. The
26-year-oid suspect was identified as
Texas Bar-B-Que Ranch
Cockrell Square

checks March 13 at First National
Bank, Macomber said. Billy C. Dove
of Century II confirmed the check
had been forged. A warrant for the
suspect’s arrest has been issued by
Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Mary
Placker, but the suspect was not yet
in custody at press time.
Other cases
Police are asking merchants and
bankers to be on the lookout for so-
meone passing a check which was
reported missing last Thursday
following a burglary at Reuter’s
Building Materials and Supply.
Several edible items in the building
were tampered with and at least one
blank check was determined to be
missing following the burglary, ac-
cording to the police chief. The miss-
ing check is numbered 111-74 and is
on the Reuter’s account at First Na-
tional Bank. Anyone seeing the
check is asked to contact the Liv-
ingston Police Department
Anyone who might be missing two
red bubble gum machines on stands
should also contact police. Kathy
Stubbs reported last Thursday that
she found the two machines on Snell
Drive. The machines were turned
over to Thomason as suspected
stolen property, but no one has yet
claimed them.
Other cases under investigation
include a burglary at the Cecilia
Morgan residence on Gamer Street,
reported Friday. Entry was gained
through a window and a 19-inch
Panasonic color television set was
taken, according to the report filed
by Officer Harry Plank.
Genaro Hernandez Jr. reported
April 8 that his 1978 Chevrolet was
damaged by an apparent shotgun
blast while it was parked in a
driveway on West Noblett Street, ac-
cording to the report filed by Officer
J.C. Ener.
Terry Lynn Spann of Livingston
reported April 7 that the windshield
of his 1977 Buick was damaged by an
apparent BB gun shot while the vehi-
cle was parked behind Seaborn
Systems Service on North Houston
Avenue.
Earl Branch reported Saturday
that while in the 100 Block of Banks
Drive three white males, also
holding a club and wrentch, pointed
a rifle at him while taking a Wal-
Mart battery and damaging the
windshield and rear window of his
vehicle. Plank was the investigating
officer.
Thomas Gene Hill reported Sun-
day that someone took six hanging
plants from his residence on North
Jackson Street, according to a
report filed by Sgt. Jim Harwood.
A 26-inch Murray cream-colored
three-speed bicycle was reported
missing April 6 from a carport at the
East Liberty Avenue residence of
Billie Jean McElvey. Plank was the
investigating officer.
Also under investigation is the
theft of license plate number VGX-10
from a 1980 Oldsmobile belonging to
Cora B. Crowson. The theft, which
occurred while the car was parked
at Bur-Mont Nursing Center, was
reported April 6 and was in-
vestigated by Harwood.
Harwood also investigated a
burglary at Wholesale Builders Sup-
ply, reported April 6. Approximately
130 in change was reported missing
from the business.
Steven Dale Warren of Arlington
reported April 5 that he had been
threatened with a knife during an
argument with an employee at Ken-
tucky Fried Chicken, according to a
report filed by Plank. The employee,
Effie Mae Benson, was charged with
misdemeanor assault in city court,
according to the police chief.
