Final Rites
Held June 26
Funeral services for August
Enger, age 90, were held at
11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 1971,
in the chapel of the Clifton
Lutheran Sunset Home, Clifton,
with Rev. Walter Gigstad and
Rev. Marvin Ottmers conduct-
ing the services. Interment fol-
lowed at the Rock Church Ce-
metery.
Mr. Enger passed away on
Thursday, June 24, 1971, in
Clifton, following a long ill-
ness.
Pallbearers were Hermann
Mickelson, Alton Enger, Ernest
Enger, Paul Enger, Clayton En-
ger, and Archie Nelson.
) August Enger was born April
21, 1881, in Bosque County to
Hans C. and Elenora Enger. On
i June 13, 1897, he was confirm-
I cd at St. Olaf Lutheran Church,
On January 10, 1907, Au-
gust Enger was united in mar-
riage with Clara Pauline Nelson.
To this union were born four
children, three of whom sur-
vive him.
Mr. Enger farmed in the Live
;Oak Community until 1946 at
which time he retired and mov-
ed to Cranfills Gap, In Novem-
ber of 1960 he was admitted to
the Clifton Lutheran Sunset
Home where he made his home
until his death.
I He was preceded in death by
■ his wife, Mrs. Enger on Octo-
j her 2, 1962, and by one son,
Nelson Noble Enger, who was,-
born on September 24, 1924,
and died on October 2, 1924.
Remaining to survive Mr. En-
ger are one son, Hans C. Enger
ot Big Spring, and two daugh-
ters, Mrs. John (Mary) War-
field, Copake Fall, New York,
and Mrs. Oscar (Ann) Avera
j of Houston. He is also survived
by five grandchildren and three
great grandchildren.
