BOSQUE NEEDS LITTLE
MORE FOR CANCER QUOTA
Felix Shaffer has announced that
the Cancer Control Drive will end
within the next few days and that
the quota for Bosque County as
yet lacks a few dollars being
reached but when ell towns’ and
communities’ reports are in he
hopes the quota will be oversub-
scribed. “If you have not given to
this worthy cause,’’ urges Bosque
County chairman Shaffer,” please
do so at once in order that the
record for Bosque County reaching
and surpassing its quota will not
be broken.” *
A list of collections from the
towns will be published as soon as
the drive is complete.

“speak as the Bible speaks” (1 Pet.
4:11; Isa. 8:20). There ,is much
language heard in religious circles
today which is not Bible talk! The
Bible church does Bible things in
Bible ways and calls Bible things by
Bible names! Preachers are not
called “Reverend” nor other titles
which vaunt them over fellow man.
Jesus condemned the wearing of
titles in Matt. 23:1-9. He showed
that all His disciples are “Breth-
ren” (Mt. 23:8). That includes the
preacher. “Reverend” is used in the
Bible but once! Ps. 111:9. There it
refers to God and not man. Then in
Cor. 4:6 we are urged to learn to
not “think of men above that which
is written.” We are commanded to
all speak the same thing. (1 Cor.
1:10). When men do this they will
all be members of the one body,
led by the one spirit, and have the
one hope, submitting to the one
Lord, and adhering to the one faith,
practicing the one - baptist, and
honoring, in this unity, the one
God. (Eph. 4:1-6). (adv.)

The gentlemen left early this
week for St. Louis with L. E.
Burt, shoe salesman, to purchase
their initial stock.
Mr. Richardson will be in charge
of the Stephenville store. Mr. Keel-
ing and Mr. Richardson were for-
erly associated together when both
worked for R. E. Cox Dry Goods
Co., Stephenville.

A large group from Clifton,
Cranfills Gap, Meridian, Hamilton
and surrounding communities at-
tended the free barbecue and open-
ing of the Que-Ann Swimming
Pool on the E. E. Stewart farm
on the Clifton-Cranfills Gap farm-
to-market road (near the latter).
The folks were impressed with
the fine pool and facilities avail-
able to enjoy outdoor picnics and
steak dinners.
Mills Stewart prepared the bar-
becue—goat, pork and beef—all as
fine as a person ever ate. He said
that he had no' idea how many ate;
they had available 500 paper plates,
but these were gone at an early
hour. Friends continued to come
by for more of the good food until
nearly 11 p.m.
Facilities are available whereby
couples or groups can grill their
own steaks on an open, barbecue
pit as* well as swim. Tables and
benches are handy with cold drinks
being sold at the bathhouse.
