gone, and Meridian's Homecom

Civilian Medicare Works
For Military Dependents
Details for claiming re
imbursement for outpatient med
ical service provided to depen-
dents of active duty military per-
sonnel by civilian agencies have
been announced for the five-state
Fourth United States Army area,
including Texas, Arkansas, Lou-
isiana, Oklahoma, and New Mex-
ico.
Effective October 1, 1966, any
military dependent may elect to
have either military or civilian
outpatient medical care, whether
or not she (he) is living with her
<his( sponsor. It is not necessary
to present to the civilian agency
a statement that military facili
ties are not available for outpa
tient service, but this statement
still is required for any hospital
admission.
Each dependent is required to
pay $50.00 deductible for outpa-
tient services each fiscal year,
plus 20 per cent of charges in
excess of that amount. An excep-
tion to this requirement is a fam-
ily group of three or more de-
pendents, which is not required
to pay collectively more than two
deductibles ($100.00) each year
plus 20 per cent of outpatient
charges in excess of $100.00.
Dependents should get signed
receipts for payment in full for
all civilian outpatient services,
authorized items of equipment
and prescription drugs obtained
after the effective date.
When seeking civilian outpa-
tient services, t h e dependent
is responsible for determining
whether or not the civilian agent
is a participant of the Army De-
pendents’ Medical Care Program.
If he is a participant, the de-
pendent will pay only the annual
deductible phis 20 per cent of
outpatient charges in excess ol
that amount. The source of ser-
vice then applies to the approp-
riate carrier for the remainder of
the charges.
If the civilian agent is not a
participant, the dependent will
pay the entire amount and then
be reimbursed by the appropri-
ate insurance carder upon pre-
sentation of receipted bills for
the amount of allowable payment
in excess of the deductible plus
20 per cent.
The agency reimbursing the
patient will provide him a certif-
icate that the deductible has
been satisfied for the fiscal year
in question. The patient, in com-
pleting his portion of the claim
form, will insert the following
statement: “Outpatient deducti-

PRINCIPLES OF FAITH
In a sermon on the Bread of Life, Jesus claimed to be
bread from Heaven, given from God, the Father. This offend-
ed the Jews, and they murmured at him, saying, “we know
this carpenter father and also his mother. How can he come
from Heaven?” Jesus then goes a step further in His ser-
mon showing them the main point in John 6:44, 45: “No man
can come to me except the Father that sent me draw him;
and I will raise him up in the last day.” It is written in the
prophets, “and they shall all be taught of God! Everyone
that heard from the Father and hath learned cometh unto
me." In saying this, Jesus laid down the PRINCIPLE once
and for all, regarding the means God uses to draw us to
Christ. God teaches them and man hears, learns, and comes
to Christ in faith. -
PRINCIPLE: “MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE
BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE
MOUTH OF GOD." —Matthew 4:4.
